Ark of the covenant

Psalm 78:61
He sent the ark of his might into captivity, his splendor into the hands of the enemy.

Jeremiah 3:16
In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land,” declares the Lord, “men will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of the Lord.’ It will never enter their minds or be remembered; it will not be missed, nor will another one be made.

I presume that this is a prophecy about the Roman's taking the Ark from the temple. I also presume that the conclusion is about the thousand year reign of Christ on Earth. If the New temple to be built in Jerusalem has another ark built, that means the new temple will not last many years and will be destroyed.

Yahweh took the Ark of the Covenant up to Heaven when the Babylonians invaded Judah. Yahweh knew the Babylonians had intended to destroy the Ark of the Covenant along with the Temple. The Mercy Seat (located on top of the Ark between the cherubim made of gold) is where the high priest of Israel would apply the blood of a lamb to complete the atonement process for Israel during the days preceeding Yeshua's first advent. After Yeshua was resurrected, He ascended twice into heaven. His first ascension is not recorded in Acts or the Gospels but is alluded to these books nontheless. His second ascension is recorded in Acts chapter. The purpose of Yeshua's first ascension was so that our High Priest could enter into the Holy of Holies and apply His own Blood (the Blood of the Lamb) to the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark of the Covenant is in Heaven. As it is written, “Then Eloah's temple in heaven was opened, and the Ark of His Covenant was seen within His temple” Revelation 11:19 (ESV). Since there is no other Ark of the Covenant (as you so eloquently pointed out) John saw the same Ark of the Covenant constructed by the Levites way back during Mosheh's time on earth.

Shalom,
David

My brain went for lunch when I was writing. ^_^

People can not be judged without the "witness against them"...
Revelation 11:19
Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.
God will reveal the "undone" away with Law of God by which He will judge the world... God can not give advise He will not use Himself..
Ezra 7:25 And you, Ezra, in accordance with the wisdom of your God, which you possess, appoint magistrates and judges to administer justice to all the people of Trans-Euphrates—all who know the laws of your God. And you are to teach any who do not know them.
Justice will be served.. whether you know the law or not..
Romans 2:12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
Yom Kippur is an enactment of that great day of judgement when the people of God will either be looking up or at the temple...

Yes, we can certainly build a box, overlay it with gold, and call it an "ark". But the pot of manna, Aharon's staff, and the tablets with the commandments would be another matter!
I don't know about the 'we', but the pot of manna and Aharon's staff has been gone since before the first Temple was built, the one called Solomon's. These were missing when the ark was returned from the Philistines. Only the tablets were left. I don't think that the pot or staff is needed. And I can't fathom why anyone would steal a pot of manna or an old stick either. Maybe they thought they had magical powers.

So, the possibilities for the ark are as follows:

1. Mountain to the east in Jordan
2. Ethiopia
3. Under the temple mount (archaeology spoken of in the 90s here in USA)
4. under the calvary escarpment (Ron Wyatt)
5. Washington DC...in a warehouse (Indiana Jones) :p

I have to be the one to ask: "why would we seek the ark?" Do we need proof? Do we want credit for a find?

Don't get me wrong, I'm still hoping that it's found someday, but as Pat34Lee said, in the millenial temple, no ark would be needed. In fact, the Lord himself would be on the mercy seat.

As I said before, the Ark is the throne of G-d. It doesn't look like an earthly one, because it is not made for one.

Read this:

The L-RD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool
Psalms

And from Revelation

1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried , travailing in birth , and pained to be delivered . 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered , for to devour her child as soon as it was born . 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron:
and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every * * month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more * curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

THE END

I'd have to disagree with that. I don't think that the ark in heaven is the one that was made on earth. Fallen into the enemies hands it became tainted really as it was used in worship of Dagon or the Dragon.

And we also know that when Moses was told to build these holy things for the Tabernacle HaShem told him that they were patterned after the things in heaven. These were just copies of the real thing.

What about the Ark in Revelation???

Revelation 11
King James Version (KJV)

1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Good point.
How could that be if it was built off the patterns of the one in heaven?

1 Kings

1 Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the City of David, which is Zion. 2 Therefore all the men of Israel assembled with King Solomon at the feast in the month of Ethanim, which is the seventh month. 3 So all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. 4 Then they brought up the ark of the Lord, the tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up. 5 Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude. 6 Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim. 7 For the cherubim spread their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles. 8 The poles extended so that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day. 9 Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

Todah rabbah. I should have remembered that. Must have had a senior moment.

I had tried looking for a reference to removing the manna and the staff, but that isn't how it was written.
