Do not use it. They cannot MAKE you accept treatment no matter what they do. If enough people decide to go private or refuse treatment, then either the economy and therefore taxes will get worse because people are out of work OR they would hang it up. They also cannot make us accept help just as they cannot make us accept insurance. If someone has the means to pay then why should they have insurance? I am saying pay it flat. If something is $500 dollars and you pay the $500 they can't tell you you can't and they sure cannot make you accept treatment. Keep in mind half the people were not for the bill at all.

Whatever the last part means.

Even a routine medical treatment can easily run into the hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars in very short order.

Feel free to pay for it out of your own pocket.

Refuse treatment? Who is honestly going to refuse medical treatment to teach Obama a lesson?

I did not say that people would do it. I said that it would be one way of saying we do not want it is not to use it. By the way, four or five reasons why someone would choose to refuse treatment. How Many does Obama try and fix one Money Some reasons you can't "fix" or try to at all.

Keep on mind though if people did do this and they no longer did it then it wouldn't matter if you liked the bill you'd still be where you are now.

If you refuse treatment or pay for the treatment the backers of Obamacare would be ecstatic. It seems as if you think Obamacare is about making people get treated for their maladies when in reality it is about collecting money for the government and the large insurance companies. So if we either stopped using the medical system or paid for our procedures and checkups etc out of pocket not only would the government collect the money from "taxes"( fines) but the insurance companies would not have to pay out.

but if we paid for it out of our own pocket we could still BUY the insurance. As for the insurance providers, what would be so bad about them not paying out?

This was what they first said about Medicare.

Funny what we get use to after a generation or two.
What did they say about Medicare?

Do you understand what Obamacare is?
What do you mean do I understand what it is? It is requiring me to buy insurance that I may not want or need and what is called a sliply slope. I personally need the insurance, but as an adult and a young one at that ( I am on medications ( three) so not quite as healthy as many my age, which by the way is WHY I intend to refuse a particular treatment should I EVER need it but should folks really be required to get protection I think not if they understand what could and what likely WILL happen one day if they do not.

How about taking better care of ourselves through diet, exercise, and a preventative visit to the doctor once a year? Insurance is a good thing, but my philosophy toward insurance is that we should never have the need to use it. Paying out of pocket is not realistic unless you are Bill Gates.

One ( not to be rude but what do you expect people like myself to do who's both mental and bodily health are not the best particularly for my age and neither of those conditions could likely be completely controlled by such means all but FORCING the use of medication if I wish to live a healthy and safe life. As for the second part while that is true, but the fact is if say said regular visit was $600 dollars and you had it why use other's people money?

You realize that everyone will need to go to the doctor eventually? How many of us can actually afford to pay out of pocket? I would venture to say hardly any of us. Do you really think all of the costs hospitals incur when they frequently provide ER services to the uninsured(who probably never pay for the services) are not being passed on to everyone us? Our healthcare system is quite broken and Obamacare is not the ideal fix but it is certainly a step in the right direction. Oh and by the way, have fun refusing medical treatment if you ever really do need it.

You realize some diseases are unavoidable no matter how good you take care of yourself?
