How about the ability to talk and eat at the same time without choking?

Now you are just being ridiculous. Please make sure you keep it in the realm of the possible, I mean if God could not design such a system it must be impossible, right?

Everytime I choke when drinking or eating I cough up fluid and say, "Thank God for Intelligent design!"

Not to mention he put a pleasure center next to a sewer plant. :cool:

Depends who you ask but, some people might find that to be a bonus.:o

But hey, it's possible that God thought that was the way it was meant to be but we humans developed an unnatural aversion. After all, he thought we should go Naked too.

(2) duplicated genes are usually silenced and subjected to degenerative mutations;

(3) regulation of supposedly duplicated gene clusters and gene families is irreducibly complex, and demands simultaneous development of fully functional multiple genes and switching networks, contrary to Darwinian gradualism.

This is all very interesting.

Can you perhaps explain then how the Beta Globin gene cluster came to be? The HOX gene clusters?

Are you not aware that gene duplications typically do not involve JUST the exonic portion of the gene and include at least some of the regulatory sequence as well?

I eagerly await your fact-filled response.

Are you suggesting that random mutation could give rise to refined human intellect? I presume such a process would have to be gradual, therefore it would require many many many such desirable random mutations in sequence to get humanity to where it is.

Is it your understanding that "gradual" must and can only mean 'bit by beat over long periods of time'?

If so, then I suggest you google Darwin online and use the search feature in his book. You will see that even Darwin did not insist that 'gradualism' means bit by bit, rather that over the long haul, things average out.
And in each case, a selective pressure on those without the mutation to die.

This is a common but incorrect understanding of how population genetics works. a 'genetic' death is not the same thing as an actual death (well, it CAN be, but it does not have to be). Due to things like recombination (such as when sexually reproducing organisms reproduce), individual alleles can becoem extinct even as their mutant replacements become more prevalent and eventually fixed in the population.
