Degeneration of Human Intellect Ever Since Adam?

i believe the intellect is still the same we just don't have as many years to mature and develope it as they did before the flood. because of this long life i believe they surpassed us in science etc. think about it, their equivalant of einstein, newton, galileo would have known each otther. today people just seem to lazy to use what we have.

A degeneration of intellect wouldn't shock me.

I certainly believe we are a degenerative species; physically, genetically, certainly morally. I mean, if we had to start the world over again with only 2 people to populate the earth. We couldn't do it. We would get nowhere.

Just my thoughts.

Personally I find this to be the case.

1 Corinthians 3:9

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness";

God declares the intellect of the natural man to be foolishness. Absent revelation from God, we are no better than fools.

Um.. If every generation has been getting progressively stupider from the beginning, and you are from the last and stupidest generation, why in the world would you expect anyone to accept your assessment?

That would just be stupid.

Personally I find this to be the case.

God warned Adam not to partake of the knowledge of good and evil because the consequence was separation from Him and ultimately death.

We are fulfilled only when we are in the presence of God.

Ps. 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

What you are witnessing is;

Since Adam we have been getting further and further out of the presence of God and therefore becoming less and less fulfilled. Like branches that have been cut from a tree we are withering.

But with the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ we have been given the opportunity to again stand in the presence of God.

As Jesus said, we the branches can reconnect to the vine and not continue to wither: “If we abide in Him, and His words abide in us”

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

John 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

In fact, most of us are depending on our intellect and our intellect is failing us.

It's the old 'divide and conquer thing'. Satan found it worked very well in the garden,
and will work today. A divided heart will always lead away from truth. There are so may things that seek for our attention in this modern world. To be alone with our thoughts and 'be still and know that I am God', is not a common thing.
Consider the ant, stop and really think about things. The intellect is just that, use it or lose it. If we would do that, then; all things denote that there is a God.
