My munchkin has a cold, so she was down by 7:30pm, Hubby has just left to pick up our chinese-food, and we rented the newest Resident Evil movie and Ted. :)
We've been playing board games and just chilling so far - mostly waiting for the Chinese food to be ready. (I ordered at 4:30 and was told they'd have it ready at 9:30!)

So that's how we roll. :D

Happy New Year!

Ahh, yes, old age. I have a cold and my husband is fighting one off, so we are staying home. We brought our tea and pop into the living room, along with a ton of appies, and we have planted ourselves here for an evening of movies and maaaayyybe we will manage to stay up till midnight till the ball drops. This is a perfect new year's eve, aside from having the sniffles.

Our little bundle of joy is a petri dish of all sorts of sickness, I've become convinced...lol My wife and I have never been sick so often as we've been ever since having her. Prior to our daughter - I think I'd gone like 2-3 years without a cold - and even that was probably pretty minor (sniffles/cough/etc).

In the past year - I've had at least 6-7 colds - bronchitis - and an upper respiratory infection.

Ahhh - the joys of parenthood.

We played some games... "Truth or Lies," which is a terrible, terrible, terrible, arbitrary sort of game... But 10 minutes of playing got me 600 achievement points, so I'm not complaining. Then we played a couple of games of "Scene It" and then he played "Dark Souls" while I had "Twilight Zone" streaming on my Surface. We snacked hard, drank a little, and rang in the New Year with a lot of love.

The boy was in bed by 8, but was still up at 10, we didn't know why... So when we checked on him we'd discovered that he'd deuced, which was odd since he never, ever does that at bedtime. A quick diaper change and by 1030 he was out like a light. Not sure where the other two boys were... Assuming with their grandparents and in bed by 9.

Sounds like an awesome new years evening!

I ended up catching up with an old buddy from my childhood on FB until around 2am - sat in astonishment that the fireworks didn't wake my daughter up (we live in an area where people can buy full on professional fireworks...so people were blasting mortars until around 1:30) - then played a little Black Ops 2 until almost 3am.

Would've gone to bed earlier - but there was some kid on the game who was just artful in the way he talked smack to the other players. Listening him go on about how "just awful" the other players were for some reason made my night...lol

My husband surprised me by taking me out for a sneaky romantic dinner! Then we went to a family get together until the new year showed up. Then we left to go to a friend's party until about 2am. We came home and watched a few episodes of the Twilight Zone before going to sleep. All in all it was very nice!

I can't stand Blops. I loved the first one, but the second one? Wow... Have you beat the campaign yet? With the rock show? I was stunned at how dumb it was.

Though I will say, playing online is fun. We actually have two Xbox's in our household so we can both play each other... Because split-screen stinks... And some guy was going on a tangent in the lobby about welfare and how stupid it was, how people were lazy, how everybody playing was some unemployed welfare dependent, etc etc. My husband went off on him, saying not to judge, he doesn't know how hard it is, he has 7 kids and two more on the way, can't afford child support for them all, just all the worst stereotypes you can imagine about welfare... The sarcasm was lost on the guy, who thought my husband was serious. So then it went from using sarcasm to point out how dumb he was being to carrying on with the presumption it was real... It was hysterical. Everybody else in the lobby was laughing, because they knew my husband was pulling his leg, and my husband went on and on about how he tries to pay child support with food stamps and Xbox points, but none of his "baby mamas" ill take it, etc etc. Then I logged in and pretended to be one of his ex's and then we went at it... It was hilarious. We thought the idiot was going to have a coronary before he rage-quit over the whole thing.

I don't know what it is about the COD crowd, but some of them are a little tightly wound.

lol - that sounds awesome!

Nah - I haven't finished the campaign yet. Ever since we had our daughter - my time for gaming is basically a half hour here or there every day or two...so the time (that I find) required to actually get into a story and/or finish a campaign is pretty limited.

Mostly I find I just have time for the multiplayer stuff - where I can enjoy a couple of rounds before I have to get off. So - haven't seen the ending yet of blops2. From what you're saying - not really sure if I'll ever "find the time" :)

What I found hilarious about this kid was that he would just deadpan out how "just utterly terrible" the opposing team was - making suggestions on how they improve their play. Maybe it was because it was so late - but I thought the kid's delivery was just awesome.

If you only complete a limited number of games, I wouldn't make Blops the one to see the end off. It involves Avenge Sevenfold and Sgt Woods on drums, regardless of the events of the game. It's stupid.

COD gets some great odd ducks. I think only GoW and Halo can compete with the ridiculousness that is attracted by the multiplayer on those games. I personally can't stand the COD community generally. LoL!
