Is it really true that someone can see the devil?

My boy friend says he saw the Devil and speaks really serious about it, but I kind of think he was only dreaming or hallucinating. He said he wished for immortality. He wanted it really bad. He also used to study witch craft and stuff like that, which is of course bad and it concerns me. He said he isn't that bad at it like he used to though. Anyway if its true that some people really saw God, which I've heard people have, then it must be true that people can see the Devil right? So this is starting to scare me. I do believe that spirits, angels and demons exist and he said an Angel appeared and made the Devil go away. Do you really think that he saw the Devil or that it was just a dream or hallucination?

I'm also really worried for him now. He seems to be confused about God and all. He's a really good person though. Please pray for him, because he's been going through a lot of creepy stuff like this. I asked him if he will go to church with me one day and he said he would. He doesn't have anything against me being a Christian or anything either.

You need to convince him, to get rid of all of his occult related material. As long as he has any of those things in his possession he will keep seeing demons. You need to pray for him and continue to try introducing him to God.

Yes, he said there's a demon after him. I've been doing my best to pray for him and try to tell him right from wrong, but I don't want to offend or upset him. So I'm trying to be easy on him. I was going to eventually try to get him into a church one day.

Well let me tell you. The devil has an open avenue to anyone who has in their possession anything related to the occult. In order for him to have some real piece he needs to get rid of all the books, ornaments or anything related to the occult. That is very important. There is a video entitled "Trip into the Supernatural" about a guy who belonged to a secret society of demon worshippers and he talks about this stuff in his very lengthy testimony.

Yes, that is what my boy friend did also say is that he is Wiccan and that he practices that kind of stuff. He accepts me for who I am and that I am a Christian though. He knows how deep in faith I am with God and everything. He was trying to let me go to make things better for me, but I wouldn't let him go. I don't know just some how underneath I feel that he is a good person and that I could get him saved from all of this. Do you think its possible? I know I've already learned that you can't really change someone unless they're willing to change themselves. He told me that he would go to church with me like I said though. Weather or not it was the Devil or Demon. I believe that my boy friend must had saw something of some sort or he wouldn't had spoken so seriously about it.

So are you saying that I should keep a relationship with him or not? What is your opinion?
With God Nothing is impossible! Do I think he can be saved? Absolutely! I'm living proof. Should you keep a relationship with him? That's not really for me to say. Anything I Say would be my opinion, not yours or his. If he is committed to a relationship with you, he will listen to what you say. But remember, be Christ-like. What would Jesus do?

Prophecykid has posted some pretty good tips for you as well.

Show him the Bible. Most wiccans know portions of the Old Testament (Don't do this, don't do that) and almost nothing of the New Testament. Show him passages in the New Testament. Especially Paul's writings. Paul wrote to Gentiles, So your boyfriend might relate better to Paul at first. I Know I did. Point out to him that Paul wasn't always "Mr. Nice Guy" to the Early Christians. But Jesus' saving grace showed Paul a better way.

Once He gets Paul's messages, Show him The Gospels. If he is anything like I was, he'll want to know more about Jesus. Luke is especially good at pointing out Christ's early life. at this point he should have a basic understanding of Christian life but he'll thirst for more.

One Question I had was "How does the Old Testament tie in to all this?" Jesus' Death on the cross answered that question.

If you want, you could have him sign up to CF. Good luck!

Anyway as I was saying though we almost just broke up, but I told him to lets still stay together until I feel like I can't take it anymore and then I would end it. You know like if I couldn't handle it anymore? I have another question is it a sin to keep a relationship with someone like that? I don't know if its wrong or not, but I really am seriously in love with him and I hate to end this relationship. Is it okay to let it keep going or not? He said he was a witch and he likes casting spells but he practice's good magic. Mostly healing and warding off evil. Is that still bad? Someone please help me with this.

It seems like you might be under some conviction from the Holy Spirit. You're very conflicted, and I am so sorry to say that part of growing up is making your own decisions based on the advice of those you trust. We're a bunch of strangers over the internet, and while we're siblings in Christ the best people to speak to are your pastor and your parents. If I were to speak just soley on what I read and based on my theory that you're feeling confusion about it I would say it's best to listen to the Spirit and end the relationship. However, like I said we're a bunch of strangers, you should probably councel with your parents and pastor.

I agree with the people who've responded to this message with the response that a Christian does not need any more than the Holy Spirit and prayer to protect themselves. If your boyfriend was raised Baptist remind him of this, or have his parents remind him of it. Also, if he's attracted to nature and encorporating nature into his faith Celtic Christianity has a ton of prayers, verses, and worship services that focus on calling all of creation to worship it's Creator.

And as far as his spirit sensitivity is concerned there is a place for that in the body as well. It's known as discernment, and those with that gift have varying degrees of it. I know people who see demons and angels, and others, like myself, have the ability to sense their presence as well as peoples emotions. The difference is these gifts are placed under the control of the Holy Spirit...they are spirit given, and are to be used to further the cause of the kingdom.

Still praying for you. :)

Both demons and angels are spirits so they do not have a body. The devil is a demon. Indeed, he is the prince of demons. However, even though they do not have a body, they can take on a physical form and appear to people. This sometimes happens to people who are demonically possessed, obsessed, or oppressed I think.

If anyone on here suffers from demonic problems I would strongly advise that you seek a priest. I would also strongly advise praying the Holy Rosary as well as the Saint Michael the Archangel prayer. The Saint Michael the Archangel prayer goes like this:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray and do thou oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

I would also recommend getting a Saint Benedict medal that has received the proper blessing. You should wear this medal. Sometimes you can get scapulars that have a Saint Benedict medal attached to them but the medal must be blessed apart from the scapular investment ceremony. You can find the officially approved blessing here:

OSB. The Medal of Saint Benedict, information, description, history, effects, and suppliers

Another thing I would recommend is using holy water. Blessed and exorcised holy water is the best kind although simply blessed holy water works as well. You can find the blessing and exorcism for holy water here:

Exorcism Blessing for Water and Salt — Catholic Tools

Blessed and exorcised salt is also a good sacramental to use in defense against Satan and his demons.

My boy friend doesn't worship demons though. He's actually trying to block out the evil with those Wiccan spells of his. So he isn't even into the really deep wicked type spells. So that wouldn't be why he saw the Devil or demons.

No, I know he doesn't worship demons. I was just saying the guy in the video did. Anyways, all of those spells are in the realm of the occult and would not help one bit. He needs to rid himself of all of that stuff. All the books and everything if he ever wants to have peace.

No, you should not stay with him. You should not be yoked with an unbeliever:

2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

In Acts 19 the apostles went into a town where a number of individuals took their scrolls of sorcery and burned them.

Here's a question to ask him Jessica: Does he believe in an Almighty Creator? If he does then why is he exhorting the powers of all four elements to protect him against evil things? Isn't the creator greater than the creation? So instead of exhorting nature to protect and cleanse, why not exhort the creator of these things that are supposed to protect?

I already know that one. I've seen it several times. My real question was is it a sin to carry on a relationship with someone like that. The Bible really does not answer that question clearly.

Yes, he does believe in God. He believes that God has let him suffer through all of the things that he has been through in life though. He also believes that God will accept everyone into heaven no matter what. For example even if they're homosexual. (No, he isn't that.) As long as they try their best to be good in life. He is still confused weather or not he will make it though.

In this particular situation I believe he really needs you. Leaving him would not be the best thing to do at this time. You can win him to Christ and this is a good opportunity for you to do so. If you realize he has no intention of following God all the way then leave. But at this time, as you see that there is hope, you should try your best with him and then if time passes and things don't get better consider leaving.

Do you really think that he saw the Devil or that it was just a dream or hallucination?
Since we can only go by what you write it is impossible to know what this was. Scripture does have Satan appearing to Jesus but him appearing to a person in a dream or vision can be just as real or it may be the result of an over active subconsciousness.

I had a "dream" where the face of Satan came at me and went through me when I was first preparing for my baptism. He was trying to frighten me away from the path I had chosen to take. I know that it was a dream(nightmare) but that is how Satan and God communicates with us at times. Though it may not be physical, it is still real.

Yes it does. The verse I quoted clearly shows that a believer is not to be with an unbeliever.

Paul was talking about Idolatry. Not this case!
Here's the entire passage for Context:
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”

And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
.

My reasoning in this case comes from 2 Timothy 1:6-13 :
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.

What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

He has demons attached to him. He needs a deliverance and to repent and turn to Jesus Christ. You need to pray for him.
He also needs to get rid of anything he was that has to do with witchcraft, repent of it, and hopefully burn it so no one else gets their hands on it.

Also, ask him what the angelic encounter was like. Angels are extremely frightening and brilliant creatures to behold. And they always begin with "Do not be afraid," because the chances are YOU WILL BE! Usually they wear glowing white robes and have blonde hair, and if they have a sword it's flaming and they usually don't have wings. Serafim and Cherubim do, however.

God bless.
