Is it really true that someone can see the devil?

My boy friend says he saw the Devil and speaks really serious about it, but I kind of think he was only dreaming or hallucinating. He said he wished for immortality. He wanted it really bad. He also used to study witch craft and stuff like that, which is of course bad and it concerns me. He said he isn't that bad at it like he used to though. Anyway if its true that some people really saw God, which I've heard people have, then it must be true that people can see the Devil right? So this is starting to scare me. I do believe that spirits, angels and demons exist and he said an Angel appeared and made the Devil go away. Do you really think that he saw the Devil or that it was just a dream or hallucination?

I'm also really worried for him now. He seems to be confused about God and all. He's a really good person though. Please pray for him, because he's been going through a lot of creepy stuff like this. I asked him if he will go to church with me one day and he said he would. He doesn't have anything against me being a Christian or anything either.

Did he look something like this?

Because artistic depictions of Satan are meant to simply illustrate his evil. Angels are angels no matter what moral palette they have going on.

Well I don't know. My boy friend just said that he was Caucasian colored. He wore Gothic like clothing and he was holding a stick, staff like wand or something with a skull on it. Then he told him that he was the Devil. My boy friend didn't believe him. So he proved it back by making a dog like creature appear with wings on it. I'm not so sure what he said the angel looked like though.

Satan was a Cherubic Lord before his fall from grace, so it is likely that he resembles something like how the Cherubim look.

The problem with that is the depictions of angels are scarce to nil. Only art really paints a visual, and they are straight from the imagination.
What you get from Scripture is that Satan is beautiful, has twelve wings and may or may not be partial to a musical instrument.
To me, I find that depiction to be all the more ominous. It amplifies the fact of how deceptive evil is.

I think a lovely work of art piece is no real representation save as an allegory. Satan is a title, Lucifer is the name. And he's a spirit not a man. Though he can inhabit a man. Or a woman.
I think we've all seen Satan a time or two.
Think about it. The antithesis, the polar opposite, the adversary of God and goodness.
Character, peace, true whit, decency, humanity, love, compassion. The opposite manifest in acts that defile, obliterate, condemn, castigate, denigrate.

I think we can see Satan in someone's eyes. I know I've seen something there in that dark place behind the pupil. Moving as if it's trying to peek at me. I think that's where Satan dwells when he chooses to inhabit. Otherwise he's like vapor waiting for the chance anywhere there is an opportunity.

As for a manifestation, like Theistic Satanists believe, all to himself in full figure form, no!
Would we ever really survive such an encounter?
If the Bible said in the OT that no one can see God and live, what would happen if we saw the fallen angel?

I'm more concerned by what you stated about his dabbling in witchcraft. Some people are capable of seeing the spiritual side of things, and if your boyfriend has that capability, and becomes a Christian, it could be used to great advantage on our side of things.

If his talking about it creeps you out tell him, and then recommend he speak to a councilor. An objective 3rd party individual who believes these things could give him a safe place to just let it all out.

However if he's still playing around with witchcraft please for the sake of all that is good and holy speak to your parents and pastor about it, start dressing yourself in the armor of God. Anybody who's seen me post about this stuff knows my take on it: Messing around with the spirit world without the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit (and only the H.S.) is like running around an open field during a lighting storm with a copper rod in your hand. I'm not saying you're going to get struck by lighting, but your chances are amplified greatly.

I know you're not messing around with it, but because of your emotional and spiritual proximity to this young man, and because those beings who make witchcraft "work" are unpredictable ______'s, there is a chance you could get hurt from his dabbling. You can't control what he does, but you can control your reaction to it.

Also, have you asked him what he was doing before he saw the devil? A guy in goth clothing saying he's Satan isn't a far reach for some folk in the Goth movement, particularly if that individual belongs to the Satanist church (in that faith the individual is a representation of Satan, therefore it's not so much Hail Satan, it's Hail Thyself, which is a fair antithesis to Christianity's "Humble Thyself"). However, the dog winged thing...that sounds like a hallucination and could be indicative of drug use, or mental health issues. It would be useful, for logical discussion, to exclude those two possibilities from the equation before we jump to further conclusions.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Actually he just recently told me that he still practices witch craft and he calls himself a witch. We almost broke up. He said he didn't want to interfere since I'm a good strong Christian and all and because, of what my family would think since they're all strong Christians as well. He said he even blames God for a lot of the trauma he's been through. He did say that even when he goes into a grave yard. He can feel the feelings, the pain of all of the spirits there and some of them try to interact with him. He said he blacked out once in a grave yard too. Well him and his family are suppose to be Baptist, but he doesn't seem that well with God. He seems to be struggling, but he tries to be good.

Yes, I told him that when he talked to me about all of this that it creeped me out and he just said that we would never talk about it again. He does have some mental illnesses which I sort of believe could make him hullucinate, but I am still unsure. He seemed so positive about all of the creepy things he has encountered. He see's the doctor for these mental illnesses and things wrong with him that he says he has.

He said he went deep into the woods one night when he saw the Devil. At first he didn't believe the person who said he was the Devil. Then the Devil said "Alright I'll prove it." Then the Devil made this black Doberman like dog with wings appear before him. Then an angel appeared and saved him. The next thing he knew he was waking up on his lawn and saw the stick, staff like thing that the Devil was holding. It was on the ground when he got up and then he picked it up and it burned his hand and turned to ashes. No, my boy friend is not on drugs. He's clean of all of that.

Anyway as I was saying though we almost just broke up, but I told him to lets still stay together until I feel like I can't take it anymore and then I would end it. You know like if I couldn't handle it anymore? I have another question is it a sin to keep a relationship with someone like that? I don't know if its wrong or not, but I really am seriously in love with him and I hate to end this relationship. Is it okay to let it keep going or not? He said he was a witch and he likes casting spells but he practice's good magic. Mostly healing and warding off evil. Is that still bad? Someone please help me with this.

Satan can manifest physically. What do you think those "ghosts" on TV are? The Bible called them familiar spirits: Demons pretending to be people.

Your boyfriend saw a demon, not THE devil, just a devil (demon), as I have.

Satan is too busy to make a personal appearance so he sends his cronies.

The Bible talks about the "Sons of God" (Angelic beings; specifically in this case, fallen angels) coming down and having children with the daughters of men. They had to become physical for that.

GENESIS 6:1

This video is by an ex-satanic priest, who is now a Christian exposing the devises of Satan. The second video is for further knowledge.

God bless.

SilenceInMotion is absolutely correct. Satan is depicted as red with horns to depict his evil nature

If he really appeared in that form, we'd run for the hills. He does appear as an angel of light.. he's beautiful, which makes deception easier. But inside, he's ugly and wants us to die.

Not that he ever actually "appears" to us.. but his temptations and also his deceptions do.. most people don't realize it though. The best way to get what he wants is for us to think he's not there doing anything at all.

Think about anything evil, really.. Think about a vice like alcohol, for example. It's glamorous, it helps us socialize, have fun, and for some, prove how tolerant ("tough") to the drug we are (I don't think of this as a positive, but in a circle of friends, it's part of what makes it fun). But keep giving up your soul to it, it eventually rears its ugly head and destroys your life. It appears to us in a beautiful light, but once in Hell because of it, we see the scary dark image of it.

As a former Wiccan who turned to Christ, let me tell you from experience, In his world, he's perfectly normal. When I practiced Wicca, I had the same feelings you just described. When I found Christ, I found that what I had perceived as "Communing with spirits and the dead" was in fact demons at work trying to pry me away from God using my gullibility.

While I've never had that kind of experience (I still had a Belief in Christ, not as our Lord and Savior at that time, but rather as the greatest Wiccan ever known to walk the earth. So I had some conflict there with the wiccan world.) One thing many Wiccans did in that period and area, was make up wild tales to "elevate" themselves among their peers. Wiccans will try and Convert those near them, tales help them in this goal. My "Coven" (Wiccan for Congregation) had about 4 members (Not including myself). A "perfect" coven would be made up of 13 members.

human beings can't heal or ward off evil with "Magic". The Very notion that one can is the work of Satan and his minions. The Bible says Love the sinner, hate the sin. I think what you need to do is witness to him. If he accepts Christ as his Lord and Savior, you would be the best friend he's ever had. You'd literally save his eternal life.

Yes, that is what my boy friend did also say is that he is Wiccan and that he practices that kind of stuff. He accepts me for who I am and that I am a Christian though. He knows how deep in faith I am with God and everything. He was trying to let me go to make things better for me, but I wouldn't let him go. I don't know just some how underneath I feel that he is a good person and that I could get him saved from all of this. Do you think its possible? I know I've already learned that you can't really change someone unless they're willing to change themselves. He told me that he would go to church with me like I said though. Weather or not it was the Devil or Demon. I believe that my boy friend must had saw something of some sort or he wouldn't had spoken so seriously about it.

So are you saying that I should keep a relationship with him or not? What is your opinion?

Does that impress the wicked. :)

God stomps on the worthless devil daily. If your truely interested in impressing, follow God. The entire world will hate you, continually. Used and abused. Hated and cursed. Each of those that do wickedly are defeated. Mankind suffers needlessly from those that attack, though they do not stop. God defeats all.
