DIO

Message from Wendy Dio

Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

I saw him live in concert when Heaven and Hell toured in 2008. The rock world has lost a great talent. He brought so much to Ritchie Blackmore's band, "Rainbow" and then of course to "Black Sabbath". He went on to form his own solo band and then returned with the members of Sabbath to form "Heaven and Hell".

I loved all his music and regret that I won't be able to buy any more music from him or see him live in concert again.

RIP Ronnie. You will be greatly missed.

I have been a christian for 18 years and Deo still inspires me. Holy Diver is one of all time fav's. I hear so much scripture in Deo's lyrics. Am I crazy? Alot of people say he was a satanist. I have no idea I have a hard time believing that.

Some folks accused him of being a Satanist because he's the one who popularized the "Devil sign" that you see the kids making with their hands at concerts. Ironically, Ronnie said that that was something that his religious Old World grandmother did to "jinx" kids who misbehaved.

Whatever his beliefs were or weren't, no one can deny his singing ability.
