Cade learning to spell. I wondering where you get good fun spelling books? Like kindergarten or first grade. Right now I just say a word and spell it, he picks it up. I just want funner ways for him to learn to spell.

If you want a book, like a workbook, you can go to a teacher supply store or even Walmart and they have them. The grade or level is on the front cover.

If you want to do fun spelling activities, then do things that are kinesthetic or tactile- writing words in sand, spelling with magnetic letters, painting words, tracing words on sandpaper. Here is a website with some ideas: Spelling is Fun . and another: http://voices.yahoo.com/kindergarten-spelling-lessons-six-fun-ways-learn-6619174.html?cat=4 There are tons of other websites out there; just google spelling activities for Kindergarten or 1st and lots of things pop up.

www.spellingcity.com is fun

Word Ladder Books are fun, too!

www.superteacherworksheets.com has some cool spelling activities

My daughter is a natural speller, too. It becomes challenging when creating lesson plans for spelling for her because she sees a word once and can spell it. :)
