savior machine? i'll be sure to give them a check.
perhaps one reason why specific categories arent listed here on CF particularly is because it would take too much space to name all the genres of styles there are.
I tried some christian goth music, but I found it just wasn't the same as secular goth music. Savior Machine is good in its own way, its just different. I think some styles of music don't blend well when the intent is to give praise to the Lord. There could be other reasons though too.
I'm new here. I prefer the classics ranging from Whiteheart to Deliverance. I like a few modern band slike Sonicflood and HB (symphonic metal from Finland) and Theocracy (similar to Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Dream Theater). The mellow end of the music I listen to is Whiteheart and Petra. Everything else is usually heavier.
Yes, contemporary Christian is definitely associated with a particular genre of music, (namely country-rock). It always puzzled me that there's such a lack of variety in Christian music. But you just need to look more, other genres of Christian music are out there, it's not on the radio and not in the churches, but internet is a great resource to find it.

Personally, as a musical artist myself, I don't think the genre should matter. I think in the end it comes down to music. Music is music, it's either good or bad music. Genre should not limit it.
