Well, I'll make this as short as possible. I've seen alot of people ask about metal bands, especially the symphonic ones, so here is a list of symphonic bands. Keep in mind that these are all in different styles, and ALL are christian:

The Beckoning - Their album Demystifying the oracle is even available for free legal download

Royal Anguish

Dead End Rising - It's a death style with good piano alongside it, and also available for free legal download

Renascent - Both Demon's Quest EP and Through Darkness album are symphonic

There are tons of Christian Power Metal bands:

Audiovision

Darkwater

DivineFire

Golden Resurrection

Harmony

Incrave

Innerwish

Sinbreed

Theocracy

The female fronted metal That I know of Are:

Ivory moon

HB

Edge Of Eternity

And If you like praise female fronted metal check out:

Scandinavian metal praise album

And For my personal favorite, the Symphonic Christian Black Metal
I'll divide these into two sections, the ones with accompanying female operatic vocals, and just the symphonic stuff

Female Operatic Vocals Unblack Metal:

Beeroth

Deborah

Divine Symphony - Reject Darkness (Their other album "THe History" Is symphonic but not with operatic female vocals)

Herlighet - A warrior never dies album

Slechtvalk - The war that plagues the lands (Slechtvalk also has some other songs with a different female than on this album, so check out some more of his stuff, like the thunder of war song, and cries of the haunted track)

As For symphonic Black metal without female operatic vocals:

Ancient Plague

Antestor

Azmaveth

Bealiah - (Raw Unblack with some symphonic touches)

Blood Covenant - Some of Their albums are available for free and legal download

Coram Deo - Evangelion album

Crimson moonlight - Eternal Emperor EP Album

Dark Lay Still - Through Hell album

Endelmoor - Demo which is available at the blackened hymns forum, along with other free and legal Unblack downloads (Worth checking out)

Eternal Emperor - Sudwarts Album

Grave Declaration - The nightshift worshipper album

Holy Blood - If you like the folk style symphonic Unblack

Soterion

And also vardoger - whitefrozen album

Hope this helps!

Ugh, so I decided to make an account on here real quick after stumbling across your request. Mildly humorous. To be honest though, most Christian metal bands are pretty lame. Like somebody said before me, it's really contrived. But, there are a few really, really good "white metal" bands...

Paramaecium (death/doom)
Crimson Moonlight (symphonic black metal/grindy-whateverness. Already been mentioned but whatever)
Horde (really raw black metal, considered the first "unblack" band)
Frost Like Ashes (black metal)
My Silent Wake (death/doom)
Seventh Angel (thrash/doom)
Ashen Morality (folk/doom)
Lo-Ruhamah (blackened death/doom)
Drottnar (technical black metal, if that's a thing)

And that's pretty much what comes to mind right now for blatantly Christian metal that's worthwhile. But I understand that the request was primarily for non-Satanic/less anti-Christian music, so, I have a list for that. There are actually a LOT of non-Satanic black metal artists with lyrics leaning more toward nature, society, depression, misanthropy and Paganism, which is tolerable, being more un-Christian than anti-Christian.

So, without further adieu...

I'll list the BM bands first:
Addaura
Aldaaron
Altar of Plagues
Ash Borer
Barghest
Cobalt
Dead to a Dying World
Deafheaven
Drautran
Fen
A Forest of Stars
The Great Old Ones
Haust
Inquinok
Krallice
Kvelertak
Leech
Skagos
Sworn
Teen Cthulhu
Threnos
Vattnet Viskar
Velnias
Vestiges
Weakling
Wildnernessking
Winterfylleth
Wodensthrone
Wolves in the Throne Room
Xibalba
Young and in the Way

And now the doom/sludge bands. There are a few black metal crossovers in here:
Abyssmal Sorrow
Agalloch
Ahab
Batillus
Black Sheep Wall
Black Tusk
Bossk
Brainoil
Buried At Sea
Burning Witch (slightly Satanic-imagery but that's it)
Colosseum
Conan
diSEMBOWELMENT
Dusk
Dystopia
Evoken
The Gault
Giant Squid
Graves At Sea
Grief
Horse Latitudes
How Like a Winter
Inverlock
ISIS
Kowloon Walled City
Kylesa
Loss
Minsk
Morgion
Mouth of the Architect
The Morningside
Mournful Congregation
Mourning Beloveth
Noothgrush
Pallbearer
Profetus
Rune
Shape Of Despair
Skepticism
The Sword
Thergothon
Void
Warning
Wellington
Windhand
Winter
Wizard's Beard
Worship
40 Watt Sun

To be honest, I don't get much into strict death metal (unless crossed with doom) or any other kinds of metal, so I don't have a list for that. Anyways, I hope this exhaustive post will produce positive results. Feel free to look up anyone mentioned. God bless.

I would also add "all the empires of the world" to that list of Slugde/doom bands. Its a really good band, all their albums are free to download...from the band themselves. If you like a mix of experimental, progressive, slugde, doom and even shoegaze (odd sub-genre name), then check em out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Yr1E3ZlUUM

Also I would check out the band callisto (experimental, slugde, post-metal) They another band I found myself listening to alot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ArcH-964Io

You sir, have incredible taste in music, and I agree with all of this post.

Also, check out Moonsorrow and Ulver. Vali and Musk Ox are both acoustic/neofolk acts... But, it seems that a lot people who enjoy metal enjoy them as well; especially if you're more into folk metal such as Agalloch.

There's also Handwrist and Audiodrome. They're more sludgy/post-metal, but they're two different projects by the same guy, and they are phenomenal, especially Handwrist:
Handwrist

Also, there's Irreversible. I STRONGLY advise you not to listen to Ashes though. That's their most recent effort, and it is pretty blatantly anti-Christianity/religions.
However, their older stuff- Sins and Lights- are incredible albums.

There's also Rosetta. I know their bassist is a Christian. Armine, their vocalist, miiiiight be, but nobody quite knows. The rest of the band is neutral.

If you're into weird industrial-esque black metal, or you're just flat-out feeling adventurous, then check out Mamaleek.

There's also ENEMIESLIST, which is a DIY label with tons of really unique metal on it. Check it out.

Most all my friends are trendy hardcore kids, and nobody seems to care about good metal, because metal has such a bad name in hardcore. I try to stay away from the metal scene though, because elitists and purist are some of the most aggravating people ever. I don't know why I'm telling anybody this.

But I've definitely heard of Rosetta. Not so much metal as they are just sludgey post-hardcore, but still quality stuff. There's also Intronaut and Irepress.

And them some instrumental sludge/doom, like Omega Massif, (early) Pelican and Russian Circles. Can't worry about lyrical content when there is none.

Does anybody know about the band A Forest Of Stars? If so, I want to hug you.

Shadow Plays from Yesterday was one of my favorite releases this year. Just saying.

Love those guys.

God is one of my favorite songs of all time. I'm surprised to hear anyone even drop A Forest of Stars at all lol, let alone on a Christian forum. Again, props to you. You have good taste.

By the way, check out So Hideous, My Love. I think they're just called So Hideous now, though... There's also The Body. But they are really frightening, to be honest. I played Empty Hearth when I was hanging out with some Christian kids from my class, they were deeply concerned haha. But they're an interesting metal band... if you can call them that.

Also, I never could get into Pelican. It was just too generic seeming for me. As far as instrumentals go, I usually prefer them to be a little more intricate. But man, Russian Circles is great. Empros is such a strong album. I remember listening to Enter over and over again when I was a freshman years ago lol.

Jakob will probably always be my favorite post-rock/instrumentally oriented band though. I do love This Will Destroy You and Godspeed You! Black Emperor though, I can never get enough of them.

Pelican's early stuff is the only I would recommend, unless somebody wants the generic heavy post-rock in later albums. I've heard of So Hideous, My Love. I'll check out some of their stuff. But back to AFOS, can you decipher their lyrics at all? Have you any idea what A Shadowplay for Yesterdays is about? Because I'm stuck.

I haven't really delved into their earlier works, simply because I'm not really a fan of their most recent stuff haha.
Awesome, you might like them. They mix classical music and black metal styles, they're quite good.

I really can't understand most of their lyrics either lol. I could understand a few here and there on The Corpse of Rebirth. But man, I really am at a loss with what Shadowplay is about honestly.

I read they are similar to Deafheaven (So Hideous), but with more of a skramz sound. You may or may not know what skramz is. That's okay. But yeah, old Pelican is really, really sludgey. But I can't tell if some of the lyrics on A Shadowplay are sacrilegious or just fantastically conceptual. Or both.

I guess you could say they're pretty close to Deafheaven, yeah. But they have a lot more classical influences (like string instruments, and more classically structured tracks.) I personally prefer their short debut over their last release. I would be kinda wary to say they're that reminiscent of skramz to be honest. I mean, I guess the vocals do remind me of like, Pianos Become the Teeth, but just barely. Ehhh Sludge can be cool, but only in moderation, in my opinion haha. But that's just my taste.

I honestly can't understand like any of them, so I have no idea haha.

Might be surpised who professes to being a Christian:
Dan Spitz - Anthrax
Tom Araya - Slayer
Dave Lombardo - Slayer
Nicko McBrain - Iron Maiden
Dee Snider - Twisted Sister (or at least claimed to be at the PMRC Hearings of the 80s)
C.C. Deville - Poison
Alice Cooper - Alice Cooper
Dave Mustaine - Megadeth

Then of course there is the entire Band Stryper.

Notable Mentions
Brian "Head" Welch (Formerly of Korn)
Fieldy - Korn
Peter Steele - Type o Negative

Like I said, I'll get on that! I'm really liking Castevet right now if you've heard of those guys. But sludge is one of my favorite genres. Like I've mentioned before, I have a small foot in the hardcore scene and sludge has heavy doses of hardcore, so of course my attention is drawn to that. What are your thoughts on Minenwerfer?

I am not. I found it a blessing to see these musicans found God and fixed up their lives of depression, drug use etc. I dont like how people are like for an example, Dave Mustaine is saved so why is he in a secular band? I hate "christians" when they think they can tell a believer how to live their live according to them. This guy humbles himself when he chooses not to play songs that he feels are wrong to play, when he may of been the one to write a master piece song. Each day I found a tag or label that is something closer to christianty to get rid of the "Christian" tag. Christianty is and has become a hypocriticy religion sad to say.

Children of Bodom is definitely not satanic
Sodom for as much as I know is satanic but I might be wrong
Death is definitely not satanic but it has some gory lyrics in early albums
Vader is, if not satanic, anti-christian for sure
Pantera sucks anyway
Nile sings about Egyptian mythology, has nothing satanic there
Turisas is a folk metal band, definitely not satanic

Here are some of my favorite bands I know for sure are not satanic: Kalmah, Insomnium, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Wintersun, Ensiferum, Scar Symmetry, Solution .45, Amorphis, Opeth, Cannibal Corpse (they have gory horror-styled lyrics but are not satanic), Dethklok, HammerFall, Iced Earth, Divine Fire (christian power metal), Gamma Ray, Helloween, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Megadeth, Demon Hunter (christian metalcore), Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Overkill and lots of others that I can't think of right now.

I'm a huge fan of metal and rock, and I want new bands to listen to that aren't too anti-christian.
I love hard rock, power metal, symphonic metal, thrash metal, melodic death metal, and other things like that.
So my question is kind of two-fold:
One, what bands do you think are appropriate for Christians to listen to and where should I draw the line? For the most part I consider things like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Ensiferum, Megadeth, Nightwish, Helloween, etc to be acceptable while in my opinion Deicide, Goatwhore, Marilyn Manson, and Slayer are not.
And two, do you consider these bands satanic/a bad influence?
Accept
Testament
Children of Bodom
Sodom
Candlemass
Finntroll
Death
Vader
White Zombie
Pantera
Sepultura
Nile
Necrophagist
Turisas

Thanks!:)
