Reading the Bible to a newborn

I have been thinking that at the beginning of 2013 I should start reading the Bible to our newborn at night when putting her down for bed.

Was wondering if anyone else has done this?

I'm gonna wait till the first of the year. It will allow me a chance to follow along with a reading plan that sticks to what day of the year it is.

Makes things a bit easier for me if it's structured in that way.

Since she has been born I haven't really read my Bible since I have been pretty busy with her. My wife and I take shifts with her, where she takes the first part of the night/morning and i take the rest of the morning so that we can both get some sleep and not be so sleep depraved.

I plan on starting again come January 1st where I will incorporate reading to her at night.
