I actually agree with most of the what the OP said. I understand where they're coming from because I've had this sense for quite some time. We're close to the end of something and on the verge of seeing the world change for the worse, not just here in the U.S. but everywhere.

I believe that Obama was destined to win because he can weaken America to the point of insignificance, allowing for the world's political and economic landscape to shift considerably. If you read the book of Revelations it gives no mention of America or any nation that could be described as us. The United States will have to be weak and insignificant globally, so what better way than for God to allow Obama to win and continue to spend and cater beyond what we can afford. How else do you explain the radical and blind devotion that so many have to him? No candidate in recent times has had that kind of power and hype. I would not be at all surprised to see a man rise up in Europe in the next few years and claim to have a "fix" for what's wrong.

I know many Christians on both sides of the aisle who feel we're finally going to see God's judgement upon our country and the fall of our nation. You can't kick God out of your society and not expect something negative to happen. We've been treading the line for a long time and I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of Biblical prophesy being fulfilled quite quickly from here on out.

You're not going to love when you see it happening. I didn't give a date btw, just know the season is ripe.

Same stuff I've been hearing for forty-plus years. None of it has any more credibility than it did then.

It is reasonable to have this perspective. I think a lot of people believe we're done but chose to appear to be more positive and optimistic. This hope of Jesus return to fix this mess IS POSITIVE AND OPTIMISTIC. It is our only hope. How much further down this path can the world go?

I got so sick of hearing people bash Bush, calling him despicable names and all that... where were the "obey authorities" verses then? Now I have to listen to more name calling on both sides...

when all I really cared about (other than this country in general) was the mass murdering of children, and the rejection of Israel.

ok what's the op again  oh yeah.. I already answered.. lol The bad thing is the country and the world can't exist this way much longer (which calls for the NWO eh?) The good thing is that state brings Christ Jesus back for us to take us up and away :D

I don't believe this is God's perfect will, but He's allowed it for His overall plans. The younger people put this man into office, and they will be the ones to suffer for it. That's better than us older folks being blamed for the mess (or gasp! It's still Bush's fault (another lie.) )

Interesting that you calculated it to be forty plus years. When Israel became a nation in 1948, many believed the clock started to tick and that it would happen in one generation. Some considered one generation to be 40 years but even if you started in 1967 when Jerusalem was recaptured, then you'd still end in 2007 (which is when things started going south). One generation can also mean three scored plus 10 =70; and that is closer to what it actually is (77 or so). Now that brings us to 2018 for one generation to see all these things to take place. I'm not so stuck on the one generation as the key prophetic sign as I am the gospel being preached to all nations and then the end will come. We are close, if not there. The wars, rumors of wars, famines, pestilence have happened before but continue to escalate. Even extreme weather conditions and earthquakes are increasing in frequency and strength.
If you don't believe any of those signs as relavent, than consider that the Islamic movement will dominate the world in 30 years due to just having babies and we will all have to succumb to their ways.
There are several videos out on future Muslim demographics, heres one site: Muslim Demographics « Tiny Frog

Is that something to look forward to? Yeah, life is going to go on and on just like it has for millions of years ... don't believe it.

Well, I wasn't around in 1948.;) I became a Christian in 1971, so that's as far back as I go with my dispensationalist experience. I've seen the Mooslim demographics video and it's full of errors and exaggerations.

I love America. Only a significant number of your populace can ascribe their butthurt as a sign from the Divine instead of accepting that their brand of crazy is no longer in fashion.

We, the rest of the world, thank you for endless amusement your tears have provided us.

Let me just share with you the prayer note Obama wrote on the Western wall in Jerusalem.

""Lord -- Protect my family and me, forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."

Combine that with his connection with the middle class and poor, along with 47%, tax hiding Romney, and he is by far the better follower of Jesus IMHO

Divine judgment for the greed in the world hurts my wallet. Since I believe God is sovereign, I accept it and also know that all things work together for good ...
The Divine appointment of Obama may be part of the punishment we are already suffering and the strategic plan to allow Muslim Brotherhood to advance, Iran to get a nuclear weapon, and Israel to go it alone in a pre-emptive strike. Is that a "brand of crazy" in fashion?
I take what He dishes even though I don't like the idea of being forced to buy something by the government or be fined; I don't approve of Obama crippling the U.S. oil prospects all over the U.S. that would have kept the price down; I don't approve of gay marriage, an abomination to God; and although Abortion is law and that won't go away, I shouldn't have to be forced to pay for it. All these things hurt my heart and my wallet, no doubt. But I'm not crying about it, just warning everyone that judgment is coming and it's not a mere fiscal cliff that I'm concerned about.

This is my feeling too. God is in control and He will use whoever is in power to bring about His purpose. I'm not happy about what's happening, both in our nation and around the world, but I rest easier knowing that God will be glorified no matter what the outcome. All we have to do is be faithful and serve Him through it.:)

when and if it ever does. Thats why I simply love to hear people's predictions about the future, they're always wrong. You know the ''season is ripe'' but no idea when that will be?
How useful is that?

I can't tell you how happy that conjunction of concepts makes me. I love it when you find a way to slag Obama and glorify your god! It's great!

Obama as PUNISHMENT for the US!

Well, if that's the case then I'm awfully glad I voted to punish people like you who can't possibly understand that sufficient of us who actually love this country could vote for someone you think is a "punishment" from God!

LOL!

I take what He dishes even though I don't like the idea of being forced to buy something by the government or be fined;
So the state you live in doesn't have mandatory auto insurance laws?

And lest we forget: the health insurance mandate was an idea come up with originally by the conservative HERITAGE FOUNDATION back in the 1990's.

I don't approve of Obama crippling the U.S. oil prospects
Yeah! Look at what Obama did in the beginning of his first term!
