Yeah things look bleak:

Millionaires won't see massive tax breaks.
Millions more will have healthcare.
The war on drugs will take a major blow, saving millions of taxpayer dollars currently being flushed down the tubes.
Gay people will gain equal rights in some states.
Children brought here illegally with no choice that want to become productive citizens won't be deported.

The terror.

I'm gearing up to pour money into stocks. I made a killing the last 2 times the market dipped.

Me too! Chinese ETFs, all the way :)

So, what do you suggest we do to rectify the situation and bring the Feddle Gummint back into line?

I'm not the one whining about it -- it's your problem; you come up with the solution...

let's see how you do:

I can only think of two things that might do it....armed rebellion followed by popular revolution, or complete economic collapse followed by a military coup. Nothing else would have enough momentum to get the job done.

The first one simply ain't going to happen; the rabble may talk a good fight, but they won't risk their bread and circuses.

As for the second -- I sincerely doubt that a military coup is going to result in smaller government and less intrusion from the feds... how about you?

Enlighten me, O Sage. And don't tell me "we'll change it by voting". You know fully well we change absolutely nothing in the Feddle Gummint by means of voting.

I'm not the one complaining -- Personally, I think what we're seeing is inevitable. Which is why I don't whine about it.

Has everyone forgotten the 2004 elections?

I remember hearing republicans say that the democratic party was done for! They'd never get another person in office again! My democratic friends were down it the dumps and just sure in four years Bush was going to turn the country into a police state and we'd all get sent off to die in some war. All the while others said they were moving to canada or france.

The world didn't end in 2004, we didn't turn into a re-enactment of 1984, the democrats learned from their loss and moved on.

If the republicans can do the same they will turn things in their favor in 2014.

Defeatism is for the weak.
You aren't weak.
Stop it.
Well, if you stopped and listen to the defense of Obama's first four years, you'd think the world nearly did come to an end during Bush's presidency.

It's like this every election. The winners gloat and the losers complain and the conspiracy theorists talk about the world ending.

Let each have their {pity} party, I say.

Still no word on your hemp farmers, I see. Indefensible, I guess.

Clearly they were better than those who founded your country. They created provisions for us that allowed us to keep our rights after all this time (which is why we respect them), your country wasn't as lucky.

And don't act like getting rid of your right to bear arms was something that you guys wanted or chose (as you would have people believe in your prior post making it sound like everyone sat down for a nice cup of coffee and agreed to it), your government made that decision for you with the 1996 National Firearms Agreement and confiscated them.

You can cast nasturtiums on the founders of Australia all day long mate, I just don't care. I couldn't even tell you who they are.

Truth be told respect I could live with. Enshrining as Gods that delivered Gospel Truth is what I don't understand.

..still not entering the gun control derailment. Would it help if I said I support the right to bear arms in the USA? And not because of what the hemp farmers said.

I thinks there are some Scots that would take issue with your list. Probably some Welsh as well.

Ah. Nice dodge.

Well, you're out of luck, because my plan is to do absolutely nothing. (As if there was anything I could do about it anyway.) YOU voted for this charlatan, YOU get to enjoy the results along with the rest of us. And when the country goes to hell in a handbasket, I'm going to be right there to say, "I told you so. Happy now?" ;)

Like the man said, Americans get the government they deserve: the one they continue to vote for.

"By ROBERT LAURIE - There's no denying it. Things are looking bleak.

With the 2012 election in the books, it’s time to take a look at what won and what lost as America went to the polls. The candidates and incumbents whose hopes were dashed in the GOP bloodbath are part of the equation, but they don’t tell the real story.

The real winners and losers all had to do with ideology, and there’s no way to sugarcoat it.

Won: Dependence

The idea that we’re a nation of autonomous, free thinking people looks positively archaic in light of last night’s results. A little under half of us still seem to appreciate the concept, but it’s now clear that a majority feel dependence on government is a better option."

The other half agrees with those ideals, they just don't agree with the GREED of anti-Christian Christians.
