The more you ignore me, the more you get confused!!!

True, but this doesn't mean one is the cause of the other :p

What you don't understand is, I've read Quran many times. Aside from Quran I've read many hadiths. I've listen to lectures, read sufi poetry, irfan books, Islamic philosophical books...

What you are advising me is to simply go back to what I use to do and somehow this is going to give me certainty and guidance. Even if what you say is true, and if it would, I don't believe it would right now, given my understanding and perception.

You know that I can't elaborate in public
Be a good boy. ;)

Who says you can't elaborate? I'm sure no rules are against proving God exists or morals exists or praise exists....

Ofcourse if you mean by elaborate posting pages and pages of Arabic text then....

I would probably get mystic experiences if I did ask with sincerity but I probably wouldn't be able to distinguish that mystic experience (as in God providing that) from my schizophrenia. And it probably will make me sick, and it seems to me it probably would be my illness as opposed to divine intervention.

I'm sorry to hear you suffer with schizophrenia...indeed I do understand the confusion that plays in your mind about God and such issues. My only thoughts for you ongoing would be that when those around you notice that you are most lucid, that you take time right then to talk with GOD and ask Him to assure you that He is there, and share how you really do wish to obtain eternal life, so that you can be free of this torment forever. Write things down at that time, so that when you are again most lucid, you can reflect upon them. :prayer: May God help you in your endeavor to find Him.

Thankyou. I recite the following time to time:

By the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
All praise belongs to God, Lord of the Worlds.
The Compassionate, The Merciful.
Master of the day of judgement
Thee do we serve, and thee do we seek help from.
Guide us upon the straight path.
The path of those who you favored other then the path of those your wrath is upon, and other then of those astray.

At times I believe in the prayer, and other times I don't. Sometimes I feel the sword of God and the Exalted Soul potential in me, and other times, it feels like it's all a delusion created by the mind.

Sometimes it feels like I feel holiness and sacredness of value, praise, goodness, and other times it feels like nothing more then instincts developed by evolution and found in structure of society and culture with no metaphysical holy basis.

But so far, I cannot believe in goodness praise and value without believing in God.

The belief in goodness, praise, value, is as strong as my faith in God (which is not that strong right now, and is more of a hope then a belief).

Perhaps you need to segment your time as well... as your thoughts... into what you will and will not think about during times of confusion and what you wish to dwell upon when you are not feeling so confused?

I know I have very down days of high pain and truthfully, my thinking is skewed during those times... I need to focus on my health and what's in my best interest. I think it's true for most people, but maybe you with your disorder, and I with my issues, have more times when we really shouldn't be making any major decisions? And then that can be a fallback for you... "not today, I'm not able to process that today and will only become more frustrated" type attitude?

That's a good prayer...do you have others? I like this one:

Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. (Psalm 61:1-4)

and for "mantras":

(my favorite) Psalm 118:17
I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.

and also Job 13:15

Though HE slay me, yet will I trust in Him.
Though HE slay me, yet will I trust HIM.

1) You don't know if you know God exists or not
2) You don't know if you know praise is justifiable or not
3) You don't know if you know value of self is justifiable or not.
4) You don't know if you know any morals are justifiable or not.
5) You don't know if you know free-will exists or not, or is even possible or not.
6) You don't know if you know who you are or don't.

I am confused in a height of confusion.

Are the damn nihilist right?

Was there a beautiful wisdom in the sought journey for wisdom?

Was the truth even worth the search?

Well, at least you know you're confused. Of course, you question the journey of wisdom and whether we can really know anything. But even if you say,"I don't know", you still know something, so that means your journey did go "somewhere", correct? It may not have been where you wanted, but you got somewhere. What implications does that have then...

Ah, I remember this thread. This was during the darkest time of my life. The dark night of the soul as they call it.

Indeed, the guidance of God is the guidance.

I had a dark night of the soul a few years back too.

Your answer reminded me the verse I just read today. "The LORD is slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression."

And this

II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

From your posts, you are always in seek of God, and God will receive you, eventually.
