This lying:
Cardinal Slams Gay Marriage As 'Madness'

Try and find something he said that's true in that article.
I guess he got part of a sentence right, with "...all the legal rights of marriage are already available to homosexual couples...".
Pity, i don't round up.

Bah, who am i kidding; you're probably one of the peeps who buys into every word of it.

I only base my beliefs on God's Holy unerrant Word, and if He says it is wrong that is good enough for me!!

Piffle. As the basis for the world's largest religion it can hardly be considered unpopular

But you are understood by people with different agendas. The problem is that your outdated views are not supportable. The cardinal trotted out all the usual scaremonger arguments without providing a single shred of evidence to support any of his claims. If he wants to be taken seriously then he should bring something worthwhile and supportable to the debate, not just spout nonsense.

If you, and others, consider the bible to be outdated, then there is no further point to debating.

Not true. It matters not if I think the bible is outdated if it has something to offer in support of your arguments. However, there is no point debating if you have nothing to support your argument.

So, if you can find something in the bible which shows how same sex marriage will lead to any of the various claimed breakdowns in the fabric of society then bring it on.

Most beliefs held on "God's Holy unerrant Word" when it comes to homosexuality isn't even remotely in the scriptures.

Beyond saying you should kill homosexuals, that God makes people homosexual to punish them for idol worship, and that they are destined for hell, anything else said to be in the bible when it comes to the topic are normally complete fabrications.

Try this one then: Every single country that has brought in SSM has had a drop in the marriage rate.

Source needed.

Also, the implied claim that a reduction in marriage will lead to a breakdown of society needs to be justified as well.

Given how many marriages end up in divorce, I would certainly hope there is a drop in the marriage rate - it could mean less mismatched marriages.

Given how many marriages end up in divorce,

Not many in comparison to cohabitation. On starting a cohabiting relationship, within 5 years 40% will have married, 50% will have split up and only 10% will still be unmarried cohabitees. Given that the majority of marriages last for the rest of the couple's lives, I think marriage is still in great health when compared to the alternatives.

That's nice.

You're still not citing sources, and none of your claims have been justified.

I also found this:

Marriage rates in the UK | News | guardian.co.uk

Funny how the marriage rate was dropping long before SSM was introduced, hmm?

Those wacky time-travelling gheys! Confront the gay agenda ^_^

Maybe you should read Romans Ch 1 v. 18 to the end of the Ch.

So he punished people with homosexuality for idol worship. Like I mentioned.
What's your point?

God's Word is for all of humanity past, present and future. Same God, same word which is the only measure that will be used on Judgement Day!!

Perhaps I have a different translation to you but mine says nothing about:
  1. same sex marriage
  2. redefining marriage for heterosexuals
  3. effects on children
  4. polygamy/polyandry

Well I'm sure you and God will be very happy after judgement day. Remind us all why that gives you and that bigot O'Brien any right to force your religious morals on gays who just want to marry the person they love?

The whole counsel of God (Genesis thru to Revelation) has clearly given the Creator's instructions for those He has created in His image.

The only right that I have as God's servant is to explain His truth to others, what they do with that truth is up to them!
