You *are* aware that the polls are reporting different numbers depending on the news source. That's been explained as because the pollsters are using a 2008 formula when the youth were excited and turnout was more and not a 2010 formula when people were finally starting to realize that they had been betrayed and some polls use "likely voters" while others use "registered voters". Then there's the fact that many Romney voters refuse to put up yard signs or put bumper stickers on their cars, or even to participate in some of the polls for fear of vandalism.

The sources that I have heard have reported that Romney-Obama is either breaking even or that Romney is ahead but by maybe one. I've heard that Pennsylvania has become the new battleground for Romney--their electoral votes will be called for voting before Ohio's. And I have even heard someone calling the election for Romney already.

Whatever right now the polls are simply a guess. We simply won't know until the election.

Is surely too big for Romney to overhaul in three days. Rendering it nigh on impossible for Mitt to take the Oval Office...

Polls: Obama stays ahead in Ohio, deadlocked with Romney in Fla. - First Read

Great news! Has a Republican ever won the White House in modern political history without winning Ohio? If this holds up, it might be game, set, match, with four more years for Obama, and Romney going back to one of his half dozen home states to destroy more businesses or whatever it is he likes to do for fun. ;)

I've heard that Pennsylvania has become the new battleground for Romney

Pennsylvania is a Hail Mary pass for Romney. Obama won here by 14 points in 2008. You can bet turnout with be high for Obama in Philadelphia and other Democratic strongholds. Polling has him far enough ahead that both Republican and Democratic groups pulled their advertisements from the state for a while long ago, and the major candidates stopped visiting, right up until recently when Romney realized he was probably going to lose Ohio, and realized he needed to put Pennsylvania back in play. I can't say it's unsound political strategy on Romney's part, when he's down where he thought he could once win, to start spending in the state he'd formerly given up on- after all, at this point, he's got more money than he could possibly find a way to spend (Legally anyhow, not counting his son buying voting machines in Ohio and schemes like that) in the key swing states, so he can afford to "throw away" money in longshot states on even a slim hope.

We simply won't know until the election.

That's true. I'll be watching MSNBC on the edge of my seat as per usual.

impeached

We'd filibuster in the Senate, causing it to fail, and you Republicans would go down in ignominy for a politically and possibly racially motivated persecution of the nation's first African-American President. Try it and you'll almost certainly lose the House of Representatives in 2014 (Which is why I doubt your congresspersons will try it. They know better.).

No, certainly it is not impossible for him to win without OH, as he could take WI and IA. However, in all likelihood, whoever wins OH will be President. I am still waiting for late polls before I make my final decision on Monday. However, as of now, it looks like the President will squeak out an Electoral vote win, with the Popular Vote essentially a tie.

Why would you wait on polls to make a final decision? Are you referring to your own votes, or your prediction of the outcome?

Snipped to portion addressed. Longer post above.

Oh so it's okay with you that the president commits treason and gets off scott free? That's what he will be impeached on. Benghazi. Watching four brave Americans die in "real time", not doing anything to help (when he could) and callously jetting off to a campaign fundraiser and *then* trying to cover-up with a story about it being due to a silly video to the point where he went to the U.N. and tried to get them to take action against our First Amendment.

Oh here's another little thing. You know that our U.S. secrets at the embassy were left for the Alqueda while Obama didn't care? You know that when Tunesia arrested one guy who participated in the attack, for weeks Obama couldn't be bothered with getting anyone from the U.S. to qestion him. It took two U.S. Senators about two days to get someone over there to question the man.

You have no idea how angry the active duty and retired military are. You have no idea how badly this is going to effect our all volunteer forces--why should they volunteer when they can't trust the president--he'll just hang them out to die? You have no idea how furious the Senators are. His silver tongue isn't going to help him here. He betrayed the country.

Well, we will see. But if Democrats filibuster and Obama can not be impeached, the Democrats will go down flaming the next time they are up for re-election.

I'll be switching between MSNBC for Chris Mathews of course

I love Chris Matthews! I almost feel like I know the guy personally, though I don't. He's got such a great knowledge of and enthusiasm for politics and this Irish Catholic Philly Washington thing going on. Definitely my favorite political commentator by far.

I'll miss not having Keith Olbermann around this time, though. The days of Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann co-anchoring election night coverage might have been the zenith of cable news for me. It was all downhill from there, at least to this point. :) But MSNBC is still the best choice for election night viewing, in my view.

and then to Foxnews for the comic relief as they painfully declare Ohio for Obama...:D
LOL. I'll bet they drag their feet on it and are the last ones to do it, too. I can't watch FOX News anymore, though. I find myself getting too angry and screaming at my television and it's just not worth it. I feel MSNBC is better for my blood pressure, and keeps me better informed. :)

Do any of you follow Nate Silver over at fivethirtyeight? He looks at a lot of different polls, and has a strong background in statistics. He was pretty close in 2008 in predicting how things would go.

Yes. Nate Silver is great. I was just talking to a relative on the phone recently trying to explain his statistical model to someone. Math isn't my strong suit, though, so I probably botched it up. :) But the guy is a genius. And I like the way he projects things to go this time around. :)

Oh so it's okay with you that the president commits treason and gets off scott free?

Nope, I would have been all for impeaching George W. Bush. ;)

That's what he will be impeached on. Benghazi.
The President did nothing wrong there. He was protecting our national security and trying not to definitively declare that something happened there that would set off the war hawks unnecessarily until he had done a complete investigation and all the facts were in. I also do not for one second doubt his love for his country and the Ambassador he appointed, and that he did everything he could for both.

Well, we will see. But if Democrats filibuster and Obama can not be impeached, the Democrats will go down flaming the next time they are up for re-election.

I don't think so. If the American public re-elects the President, that's 50.1% (Well, with the electoral college, maybe not quite, but close enough) who certainly wouldn't support impeachment and, generally speaking, you can count on a lot of folks who wouldn't vote for a guy still not thinking it's okay for another party that lost an election to try to remove an elected leader through impeachment over political issues because their guy couldn't win it fairly at the ballot box. Many people who didn't vote for President Clinton strongly opposed his impeachment- as the process continued, his approval rating kept getting higher and higher.

He did everything he could for the Ambassador? I would laugh at that statement if it weren't so tragic. The American way of heroism is to save lives and then figure out what had happened. Not sit around watching it all play out in front of you, take it all in, blame something that you know is not to blame, and then a few weeks later tell the truth.

American patriots fight for their own, save their own, cherish their own. American traitors, sit back, watch Americans die, say a few words, fly off to give a campaign speech and rake in money to get re-elected. No, Obama does not "love" his country. He loves the fact his countrymen, and women, voted him to be President. That is as far as his love goes. He is not patriot. He is a traitor. He has betrayed his Presidential Oath. He has not protected the Constitution, he has raped it.

We would not be trying to impeach Obama over "political" issues, it would be for raping the Constitution and leaving 4 Americans to die without it bothering him a bit. Nah, he thinks it is more important for him to keep campaigning.

No, F&B, I have no idea how old you are, what you believe about "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you", or anything else. I was as you are now. I thought the Democrats would be the savior of America because they care about the people of the country. Obama has proven time and time again that he doesn't care about the people of America, unless, of course, they are voting, and especially voting for him.

I'm gonna follow Billy Graham's advice and vote for Ron Paul.

Wow, if the rage and hatred expressed in this post could be harnesed and used as an energy source, it could power the entire Eastern Seaboard for a year.

If there can "be only one" and Ron Paul is *not* one of the "ones". Then a vote for him, means one less vote Obama needs to get re-elected. And I've read the Billy Graham ad too (as well as listened to several other preachers and my Bishops) and it doesn't appear that Obama is their "guy". Tomorrow there will be a personal ad by several Admirals and all that also endorses Romney over Obama. Of course you've already seen the SEAL Team one that is definitely against Obama.

Right now it's a dead even race. Really want to see Obama win simply because voters chose to vote for someone who can't possibly get those 270 electoral votes?

Obama is acting really weird now--telling folks to vote for revenge and leaving people in New York without water, food, electricity, generators, gas (Yeah, the people of Staten Island are complaining loudly.) Maybe he's counting on winning by others voting third party (or staying home,)
