I sweat a lot and I hear its better to keep those hairs short so the deo makes better contact.

I've also heard the hairs absorb the sweat so you shirts dont get wet. Which way is it?

Been using degree antiperspirant but it leaves yellow stains cuz of the aluminum, so I hear its better to just use deo.

Another thing, I like to trim the hairs because I hate when I raise my arm and I have a few stands hanging out from under my sleeve.

So what do yall think?

With the exception of after my backpacking expedition where I had two showers within two weeks (and no deodorant since it was bear country), it hasn't helped me a whole lot. That hair will get stinky, but even if you trim it and wash the heck out of the roots it's still going to stink. What will probably be of more help to you is to wear an undershirt with actual sleeves as a sweatcatcher, and choose shirts that will hide the undershirt.

Antiperspirant and shampoo with aluminum have been linked to Alzheimer's. You can find products without aluminum at most health food stores.

Nothing wrong with trimming your body hair. The hair under your arms especially will trap odour from sweat after doing exercise; and it is absolutely minging! I find it much more hygienic to do this and you don't have to worry about smelling like a real mess either.

Like others have said, shaving them won't completely stop the odor, although it can reduce the amount of sweat/heat/odor trapped there. So IMO it's a good thing to do for regular hygiene's sake, rather than for a massive benefit in odor reduction. I've found that the easiest way to manage it is to use an electric barber's razor, since you can customize the cutting length while keeping it short and avoid getting razor burn. If you decide to take it down to the skin afterward it's also easier since long hairs+safety razors don't mix.

The cause of the odor are the apocrine sweat glands, which actually don't do anything to help cool you off (the ones for cooling are eccrine sweat glands, and those don't cause body odor). Short of getting them surgically removed/reduced in number - which is typically reserved for extreme cases, and reputedly pretty painful to recover from - there's little to actually stop it.

1) Is the hair under your arm longer then the hair on your head?
2) Can you braid it
3) Did anyone ask if you have 2 furry dogs under your arms
4) Did you get detained in the gorilla exibit at the zoo because they thought one of them escaped?
5) Do you have to brush and style it?
6) have small objects ever gotten lost in there?

If you can answer yes to any of these, then you should trim it
