We saw the baby on ultrasound on Monday and the little fluttering heartbeat. The next u/s is October 23. Pray for a successful pregnancy and healthy baby :)

Definitely praying for you!!

I could definitely use some more wonderful news like this! We seem to be losing friends at an alarming rate. Not that we don't rejoice that they're in heaven, it's just hard sometimes...

I hear ya, PW. I have been following the events of our mutual sister in Christ, on FB, with sadness, even thought I know that I should be joyful that she will soon be with our Lord. I also lost my brother-in-law to a farming accident in the past week. I know he is in heaven, but I am still very sad, for all of us he left behind.

It's truly a 100% miracle :) Hard to explain without going into detail, but we were just about told we couldn't have kids and this baby is all natural (after over a year of fertility meds and major surgery). No drugs at all. 100% God.

So VERY happy for you. Congratulations and God be praised!

My friend Ruth won her battle today...just after this morning God welcomed her Home in Heaven, wrapped His arms around her and said

"well done, good and faithful servant"

I have these visions in my head of her just singing at the top of her lungs and finding some gorgeous church organ or piano to plunk on.

Now my prayers shift over to her husband and little baby boy who are left here on earth to continue their journey without their wife and mother. They'll need lots of prayers, even though their faith is strong too.

It's so hard, being joyful that Ruth is finally with our Lord, in Heaven, and being sad at the knowledge that the road may be difficult for Paul and little John. But their faith is strong, and they have MUCH support. God will take care of them.

As an interesting side note, our dear former Pastor and his wife (Pastor just recently took a call to another congregation) had their baby girl on Sunday, at 5:59 am. So we welcome this little bundle of joy into the world, as we said goodbye to Ruth. They also knew Paul & Ruth very well.

Prayers for Ruth's family.

Congratulations Aibrean!!!

Belated Congratulations, Rev and Alexnbethmom!

Hi.

Just checking in, haven't been here in a while. It's been wedding fever in the Mr. and Mrs. Flipper household. We have attended 5 weddings so far since Labor Day weekend. Daughter was an emergency flower girl in one of them (only found out a week before and by a miracle got her a dress and shoes to the bride's exacting standards), both son and daughter were in my baby sister's wedding on the 12th. Got to see a Greek Orthodox wedding for the first time. Actually it was an Ethiopian wedding performed in a Greek Orthodox church by a Greek Orthodox Priest. It was a traditional orthodox wedding with some Ethiopian touches here and there. It was interesting. They say everything in 3's because of the Trinity? Three of the weddings were outside, two were inside. The Greek Orthodox one was by far the most formal, and the church was beautiful. The least formal (but still beautiful) was on a deck overlooking the river at sunset, performed by a Lutheran pastor, and after pictures, everyone changed into jeans. One of the weddings didn't mention God at all in the vows... :( One of who got married was my baby sister. We have another wedding in 2 weeks, but Mr. Flipper has to work, so I have a babysitter lined up and am going with some friends.

Mr. Flipper and I have been asked to submit a paragraph to be read during services on Orphan Sunday, which is on November 4, and have also been asked to stick around in between services to answer questions for congregants considering adoption. There's going to be some foster parents there, and those who have adopted domestically as well. A group of us have been praying about starting an adoption/fostering ministry in our church. I am starting to feel God leading me/us in that direction.

My SIL still need prayers. She was arrested and charged in July. My understanding is that the amount of evidence proving her innocence is growing and growing, but they still have to go through the process. She is out on bond. Her daughter is living with her again (original bond condition was that she couldn't). Her husband is working pretty steadily right now, so financially they are ok. My FIL is contemplating coming out of retirement to help them out as well.

Other than all that, we are getting ready to do some major remodeling in our house, and are looking for a minivan. :p

Hope everyone has a great weekend - even though I'm hardly here, I do think of all of you often, and am always praying that all is well.

Oh, and Go Cardinals!!!!

Goodness...after reading up on the forums this past week I'm scared at what "Christianity" is becoming...universal salvation, religion is a guessing game, and this coming from people with faith icons. I have pity on the world if those people are the witness.

and if those days weren't shortened, even the elect would be deceived, if that were possible.:sigh:'

It often seems that there is a great falling away from the truth going on. All of the Churches seem to be affected. So many people just want to worship in peace and these liberals and charlatins won't allow it. Who knows but that we may see the Lord any day. Until then, we go on and stand firm. Or as firmly as we can anyway.
