I've been inactive and eating double the normal amount I usually do and still haven't put on any weight... I think it's impossible for me.

Maybe you should try eating more protein? And focus on strength training. I'm not expert though.

I need to lose a lot of weight. Addicted to food, though.

Aw! You don't have to give up all the food all at once. Try things a step at a time.

No you just have to change your diet. Its not so much double what you eat it is carbs, protein etc. etc. factors.

I am the same way, after 10 years or so of not working out I still have the outline of a six pack. Now that I quit smoking (so far) I have gone back to working out and going to get my old body back.... I lost tone but didn't get out of control even being away all that time.

If I can gain you can too, you just need to pay attention to what you eat (carbs etc.) and do homework until you find what works and avoid creatine (it works but my experience is why I had to quit working out those years ago, it was killing my kidneys.)

Fourth week check in 3.3kg loss in 4 weeks. Not bad considering I was sick for over two of those weeks and didn't exercise. The calorie counting appears to be working then. I have been a bit dizzier than usual though, am guessing that is the diet. The dr said I might experience it while my body gets used to it in week 1 but this is now week 4!

I've lost around 8lbs since I left America.
Aside from all the hills/walking I haven't been really exercising and I've been eating poorly.
I'm curious to see what a proper/healthy diet would do to the numbers.
Once this food I have is gone, I'm going to try two weeks of super healthy eating and see how much I lose.

I do not trust the scales, but if I did then they would be telling me it's about time I started working on toning up rather than just counting calories. Not that it has stopped going down, just that I should really give my body a little shove towards natural redevelopment rather than shrinkage.

I'm plateauing still... between 61.7 - 62.2 kgs.

I started using sparkpeople to track my calories again, in case I wasn't being accurate. It's telling me I don't reach the minimum for carbohydrates and protein most days, which I chalk up to being a frustrating side effect of being on a gluten-free diet. I have finally become physically comfortable and satiated with my diet, I don't particularly want to go changing it again - but I'd need to, as my calories are at 1500 so I can't just 'add in' things that are missing, I have to replace/reduce existing things if I want to up the carb/protein level.

I think I'm going to shake up my physical routine and do some swimming.

Why? You've got a great figure, I wouldn't try to lose any more weight.

i've had 2 weeks of "do whatever you want" in the gym.. and havn't stuck to my strict routine.

time to start losing fat again soon...

Drink or eat a health drink/food every day you plan to work out and remember that horrible taste.

No one wants to ingest those things for nothing. ^_^

Oh that's awesome, Keri! Good job! :hoho: And good luck with the eating!

I think I have kind of plateaued for a little while at 10 pounds from my original goal. I've lost 40 pounds so far over 2 years and I just have that last 10 to go. It's frustrating because I can't get that last 10. And because after my efforts for the last 2 years, I still feel so far away from being where I want to be.

I want to adjust my goal to another 10 pounds lower, maybe even 20. That means another 20 to 30 pounds to go from where I am now. I'm just tired of always being the chubby girl who gets overlooked all the time. I'm technically already a healthy weight for my height, but I'm still chubby and it frustrates me because of all of the efforts I've put in in the last 2 years.

Problem is that I've already cut a lot of unhealthy food out of my diet. I've cut my portions significantly already. I have been counting calories and fat, but up to now, I've only adjusted the food and amount that I eat to be significantly healthier; I've only changed my habits. But I think that now I'm going to have to actually diet, as in special or fad diets or something like that, if I want to lose another 20-30 lbs.

Any suggestions on how I can diet in such a way to lose another 20-30 lbs and actually be able to realistically maintain it afterwards?

Aw congrats on the weight loss, firstly! You should always feel proud of yourself for how far you've come. It's not easy losing weight and any weight that you have lost is a great accomplishment! So don't be too down on yourself.

I can definitely say I know how you feel though. I've lost 50lb last year and this year I've been completely stagnate. It sucks. Because I'm still pretty chubby!!! My main problem area is my belly area and my overall waist size. I'm also at a healthy weight for my height. But it sort of bugs me that I'm just 10lb away from being at the borderline weight range for my height. So yeah, I know where you're coming from.

I'm not a dietician so I can't really give you great advice. But I do know that dieting as in fad diets may work, but just for the moment. Since I'm in the same area as you are I actually don't know any ideas other than what I'm trying right now. Which is strength training using my own body weight, and eating a bit more protein. I'm hoping that works.

I wish you luck in your journey though! And congrats again for coming as far as you've come in you weight loss.

Finally after two weeks of being sick I am back to my routine. My muscles ache and I hope this new routine helps more. I need to get into better shape. The last picture I saw of myself did not make me feel good. But besides that I feel better emotionally and physically when I work out, so maybe that will help.

From what I understand, that last 10 pounds always hangs on with all its might fighting to survive. I don't know why, but it does.

You mentioned changing diet habits, but what are you doing for exercising? You may have mentioned it but I just haven't seen it :)

I'm glad you're able to get back into it. :)
