Someone fed up with their own selfish desires (in this case lust) was told to seek refuge in bible.
They were led to the song of songs.

Why?

For no one who is under the Law will be able to look up to the truth, for they will not be able to serve two masters. For the defilement of the Law is manifest; but undefilement belongs to the light. The Law commands (one) to take a husband (or) to take a wife, and to beget, to multiply like the sand of the sea. But passion, which is a delight to them, constrains the souls of those who are begotten in this place, those who defile and those who are defiled, in order that the Law might be fulfilled through them. And they show that they are assisting the world; and they turn away from the light, who are unable to pass by the archon of darkness until they pay the last penny.

Song of songs is in the bible to promote sex.

Peace,
through kindness and patience.

Mercy be with you.

Hmmmm. Here we go again. Oddly enough, sex started in the Bible around Genesis 2 and continues pretty much through it. I doubt the Freemasons were around when God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply.

And here I thought that it was because sex sells.

Which Gnostic scripture did you take this from? I'm interested to know, because it is obviously Gnosticism. Sexuality is sacred as is the body. Spirit and body are not separate, one being the prison of the other. But rather both in composite are us and we are good. The song of Solomon is good and full of beautiful imagery of love and sexuality.

The promotion stops when the Evangelists quote Christ encouraging eunuchs.

Freemasonry started with the architect god of the worldly universe. Aka the foolish god.

Peace and love be with you all.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

There is one God. The separation of the physical from the spiritual is heretical and wrong.

Considering the topic, this seems more Catharist than Gnostic

I really hope that I am wrong. I believe in judging for myself what is right. If the Christian world decided to start a blood bath again, heresy will save me.

I'm always on the fence about there being one God. Maybe it's a matter of being lost in semantics.

Scripture says we are gods, and there is also the evil god mentioned in 2 Cor 4:4.

I know nothing.
I appreciate your thoughts.

Peace be with you my friend,

Have a look into the usage of the term elohim, throughout the old testament, it was translated theos in Greek, elohim merely means heavenly being from my understanding, Yahweh is the incomparable elohim, there is none that match him (Dt 4:35 Dt 4:39 Dt 32:39 1 Sa 2:2 Is 45:5 Joe 2:27)

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

1 Corinthians 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
...
1 Corinthians 7:28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

Whatever your source for your information, it is in error. Masonry's use of the term "Great Architect of the Universe" derives from Christian usage. It was first introduced into Masonry by James Anderson, a Presbyterian minister, who simply used the same terms that theologian John Calvin had used before him, describing God as the "Architect of the Universe," and describing creation as the "architecture of the universe." The term first appeared in Anderson's Book of Constitutions written in 1723.

Christian understanding of God as Architect is well-documented. Poet William Blake, who was also an artist, produced a painting titled "The Ancient of Days," depicting God with compass in hand designing His creation. John Milton, in Paradise Lost, wrote: "In His hand He took the golden Compasses prepared ... to circumscribe This Universe." Before Milton, Dante, in his Divine Comedy, wrote: "He that with turning compass drew the world's confines."

And the concept is a biblical one as well. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 3:9-10, "For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it."

The words "master builder" are the English words used to translate the Greek word architekton. It's easy to see that the Greek word is the source of our word "architect." And in that same context Paul describes us as "God's building."

To put it simply, the concept and its origin in Masonry are not from the "worldly universe."

People can use all of the hyperbole and misguided theology that they wish, but they will never be able to argue away the reality that the Devil is a god--an evil one. He is the god of the world--the one that most folks honor in their hopes, dreams, wishes, actions, and attitudes, if not also with their words....

Once durng a vision, I was taken to a low, broad valley. Dusk had arrived. In the valley, a vast multitude had gathered. Its members held candles. The were chanting in worship of someone or something that I was not allowed to see. It was obvious to me that most of the people near me were Americans due to how they were dressed. They were standing close to a stage. But the crowd contained billions of folks of every description. Their ranks spread from the stage to the valley's far end as well as to the crests of the ridges flanking it.
Eventually, a man carrying a wand approached me. He informed me that the people gathered in the valley were those people among the Earth's inhabitants that serve the Devil. It is notable that preachers, priests, and nuns stood among them....

1 Corinthians 7:28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

the problem with marrying is simple and obvious, the author explains :-

1 Corinthians 7:33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

so even saints have major problems with marrying, it interferes with their Love of God and their tasks for Jesus ...

sinners have even greater problems, many marrying for lust, no Love, many even hating the power women have over them, hating their wives even [misogyny , so common it has a name!] , overtly or covertly makes no difference to God who looks on the heart to see who has given up sin, who has not ... and that leads obviously to sin of many kinds...

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

There is one God. The separation of the physical from the spiritual is heretical and wrong.

The spirit is holy ... it MEANS 'separate'

the spirit [creator] is completely separate, completely different [endless, unchanging, time-less , united as ONE] from the physical [created] [begins and ends , changes , apparently many]
