Will the Antichrist lose the next election in the USA?

I think Barack Obama, like Prince Charles, Tony Blair, Bush 1 & 2, Ahmadinejad, etc. - all of these supposedly obviously antichristian figures are being made to look like the real Antichrist by design so that, when the True Antichrist comes on the scene to save the day, he will look like a christ-figure compared to figures previously thought to be figures.

Antichrist, as per Daniel 11, will come in peaceably, and he will be incredibly flattering, so much so that he will build a kingdom/nation on those characteristics alone.

A figure I think is worth looking at is the Maitreya figure.

I don't think/know if this person is the Antichrist, but his profile would be the profile of what the real Antichrist would be like. Again, didn't say this person is...just worth keeping an eye on.

I can firmly say Obama, win lose or draw, is NOT the anti-christ. The ac will start a one world religion, and have the false prophet out in front calling him the saviour. The ac will also be loved by nearly everyone on the planet. Have you seen BHO's recent poll numbers? He can't even get half of our country alone to VOTE for him, let alone love him. No, I think the true final ac will either be a pope or will take over and pervert catholicism into his one world religion. But saying any American political figure is the ac is pretty silly at this point, considering no matter what side he comes from, the opposite political side will hate them simply for being in a different political party. That safely eliminates the "loved by all" aspect of his personality...

I don't know if he is the anti-Christ. But he is definitely a major sign of how close it is to Christ's return. And this is the reason i believe it to be so.

He's not worth keeping an eye on. Maitraya is a figment of some goofballs imagination by the name of Benjamin Creme. Most Christians have known about Maitraya for many years and he wouldn't fool anyone because in reality, he doesn't exist. Benny Creme had a website several years ago trying to get people to buy things using their credit cards. Big old scam!!! Obama came in peacably AND flattering. If people would stop and use their heads, what he is able to accomplish right now is unheard of seeing as how he is about the worst President of record!! He has done absolutely nothing for this nation, has basically ignored the Muslim uprisings, won't see Netenyahu, stated as far back as in the late 90's that he believes in the redistribution of wealth, he is blatantly a Socialist and trying to make this a socialist nation. His itinerary is shmoozing with Jay-z, Beyonce, Letterman, Pimp with A Limp, and any popular IDOL he can and he's this high in the polls???? He became President in 2008 by a sheer miracle against Clinton, and he will be re-elected in 2012 against Romney. It will be close, but not close enough for him to lose....and then the fun starts

I didn't say Maitreya was AC, I said he represents the model of AC.

Obama hasn't done anything different than any other politician - ever. He may be slimy - yes, but he is not fooling anyone into thinking he is a savior. Antichrist will seem like a savior, and the whole world will be fooled into thinking he is the savior (except for the elect.) Moreover, too many people dislike Obama - that is a key point. Too many people are "on to him" being an antichrist figure. This categorically disqualifies him as antichrist. He is under too much scrutiny. The real AC will have the hearts, minds and trust of the majority of the world. Finally, Obama identifies with a god. Antichrist will not regard ANY god - not the god of his fathers, or any god alike. AC will magnify himself as a god. This also categorically disqualifies Obama as the AC. He may be very destructive, but he isn't the AC.

When Obama came into office, and received the Nobel Peace Prize, most people knew that was a farce. He is still continuing the wars in the middle east; war is not peace. He is sending warships to the Strait of Hormuz just in case an escalation begins again in the region, specifically between Iran and Israel. He made orders to killed Osama bin Laden. This is not peace; this is war.

We can agree to disagree, but I think Obama is being made to look like AC by comparison, so that the real AC will look like Christ. Obama is an obvious choice for AC. AC will not be obvious.

I'm skeptical too. People also thought Hitler was the antichrist, I mean - look at what he did in such a short time. And he specifically went after the people of God!

Obama's idea of God is a value system. I have his beliefs from 2004 in an interview. He doesn't believe in a literal heaven as he believes that heaven is here and that a loving God doesn't send people to hell. You are right, AC will not be obvious...just like Obama. Just because someone says the word God or says that they are a Christian doesn't make them one. It doesn't surprise me that he ordered Osama Bin Laden killed. He would look like a hero. Satan would magnify himself in the worlds eyes. Obama still has many followers who think that he is the greatest thing since Pepsi Cola. When I ask my friends why they are voting for him again since he hasn't done anything, their replies are goofy!! They say because he has made it to where people can go to the doctor now, can get food, he cares for all people blah, blah, blah. They can't give you an exact answer politically of what he has done. They are mesmerized by the man even today. Watch the debate Oct 3rd and watch him throw Romney under the stage when he outshines him.

I share Obama's belief about heaven, the Scriptures and Tradition never point to us evacuating creation, that's unChristian. Also I share the Orthodox view of hell that it's being in the presence of God when one doesn't want to be.

Of course Obama will outshine Romney, because Romney is wholly unfit to be President, let alone in politics in general. The only seat that guy should hold is the one in the board room of his company.

Obama is a Christian, he's said so and nobody has the right or authority to deny that except God himself. As far as I'm concerned, he most closely aligns with Jesus' teachings. He's absolutely, positively, NOT the antichrist. That was Nero.

This is a made up and failed prophesy, about Antiochus IV. It's not about an antichirst, and isn't even an architype of an antichrist. It is a continuation from the history of the Seleucid and Ptolemaic empires, the king of the north and the king of the south.

Daniel 11:2, 40-45 is considered non-historical by most scholars, who generally agree that the vaticinia ex eventu ceases at Daniel 11:39 and that the remaining verses are genuine predictions, which do not accurately describe the events of the time. After describing the "desecration of the Temple (Daniel 11:31) and the Maccabean revolt, the author predicts another attack from Egypt in which Antiochus will be victorious and capture the entire territory along with Libya and Ethiopia (Daniel 11:40-43).There is however no historical evidence for this. Instead, Antiochus went to Armenia, Babylonia, and Susa.

That's the truth about it. It dosn't match up with Ezekiel's 38-39 war either.

36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.

36-39 is describing Anthiochos IV. Some have thought this to be an architype of the antichrist. That's probably what the early church thought.
