Jeremiah 17:5
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

And God said, "Thou can still believe in evolution whilst believing in me."

No, God did not say that; as it is not possible for God to lie.

But God did say Galatians 5:9; A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Just as mixing a lie in with the Truth makes for polluted doctrine.

It's called a joke. I know God didn't say that.

Sorry you can't accept the fact that you're just a multi celled organism made of hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen.

Jude 1:10
But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Made a poll over in Ethics & Morality asking your opinion on evolution and creationism is schools. Feel free to add your vote:

No, and children shouldn't even be required to go to school either.

Stop forcing other people to live their lives as you see fit. Mind your own business.

It annoys me greatly when the social conservatives and progressives alike start limiting people's freedom in order to try to make them fit their own societal ideal.

Yep, ignorance is bliss...

Indeed. It's hard to know how someone's freedom to live their life as they choose in a modern Western economy could be limited more than by the simple expedient of allowing their parents to deny them an education.

The parents are the parents, not the government.

That's as maybe, but there are some things we do not let parents do to their children. Beat them to death, sell them as slaves, leave their illnesses untreated, fail to feed them. There is no absolute reason why "deny them an education" shouldn't be in that list, as indeed it is. Or do you believe parents should have absolute rights to do those other things to their children as well?

They're the parents of their children, not yours and mine.

Children are not public property. Neither are you.
Nor are children the property of the parents. Parents have responsibilities to their children. One of those responsibilities is education. Not providing a good education is neglect, which is child abuse.

Or deny them a healthy and "proper" diet.

Or deny them a smokefree home.

Or deny them parents who are religious / irreligious.

Or deny them a politically correct life, depending on who is in power.

Etc.

No, I don't.

I believe in equal rights, self-ownership, the non-aggression principle, limited government and liberty.

Physical coercion initiated by one individual against another is a violation of that. So no beating your kids, your wife, your neighbour, etc.
