3 years, and I don't count how many months :p we were engaged, and all that junk haha doesn't hurt at all that we're no longer together (I ended it). I still love her, but I'm nowhere near in-love with her like I was.

I have never had a conversation with a member of the opposite sex (family excluded) that lasted longer than five minutes outside of a work context.

Any particular reasons why? If you were below 20 I would just think maybe you still haven't broken out of your male den, but at 27, haven't you been attracted or at least interested enough to try talking to a female? just wondering.

Were you engaged throughout the whole 3 years? or at the end of it?

About 2 months into our relationship, we had always been friends before this (knowing each other for 3 years at this point); and we would talk to each other for countless of hours, and finally I just told her that I loved her and she said that she'd been waiting to hear that from me for so long... anyway, yeah, after we started dating for awhile I proposed and we were engaged for the remainder of the relationship.

Nope, never been interested.

Physical attraction means nothing to me when it comes to wanting to talk to a girl. I must be able to connect intellectually or spiritually with them, and that is exceedingly rare.

how do you plan to connect with them intellectually or spiritually if you're not talking to them?

Leading question is always, "What are your thoughts on God?"

Within five minutes I know if I want to continue talking to them.

I have little patience for flirtatious frivolities.

Edit: I have had some very good discussions online, but I'm not counting those.

Mine, 4 years and 5 months I think. I can actually get the exact number but it would just bring back memories and you know those hurt if you dig deep into them.

So, what is the longest relationship you held with the opposite sex? :)

I've been best friends with a college gal for well nigh twelve years. (You didn't say what kind of relationship. :p)
