If Christ took the curse of the law away, does the curse still apply?

specifically with regard to pain in childbirth? can christian women
pray for no pain?

thanks for your thoughts
i know one lady and her husband that stood on that verse and declared that she would have not pain or difficulty in childbirth. they started praying that verse and believing that verse when she first got pregnant.

she said that she didn't make it to the hospital when it was time to deliver. the baby just came sliding out with no pain or problems at home after just a few contractions.

We are restored to fellowship like Adam had. I think the Word said the pains would be increased, so it is likely some discomfort is involved in the process. In the Word it describes birth pangs and groaning related to the birthing process. Of course we only know this from a post-Adamic perspective.

According to your faith be it unto you.
I know of a woman who had several children at home, completely by faith. If it were a critical thing, and someone needed something like morphine for the pain, then you wouldn't do that. I believe you can give God glory by your faith, but meditate on the promise and be led.

I believe the pains of childbirth can be GREATLY decreased and we should no doubt speak this over our wives and encourage them to get in line with this too. Speak that over yourself throughout the pregnancy.

Relating to the rest of the curses listed in that part of Genesis. Before I got married, I was meditating on the curse women have relating to her (sexual) desire being for the man, but he lording over it. This afflicts many in the world and it is meant to be a curse. The first time I "heard" this in the Spirit, I thought if I ever got married, I would make sure no curse was working in my sex life. In the 20 minutes before I got married, I remembered that I wanted to do this. I was rushing in the car (I remember exactly where I was when I declared this), but I broke that curse off our sex life and as I spoke it, an anointing was present in my words that really made me notice! I didn't feel exactly spiritual right before I said it, and I was late getting the wedding music together, and was really a little out of sorts with my bad timing.

Anyway, I spoke it out by faith, and God was there and I blessed my marriage, having broke that specific curse off our lives in Jesus' name. You can do the same thing involving the curse of increased child birth pains in the name of Jesus - the name above all names!

Our intimacy was supernatural and gifted and completely by grace, having waited for marriage in all physical contact. We have always stated that God's grace went far beyond what "natural" couples experience because of our redemption that is in Christ.

(Did I say all this?)

Do we still have thorns and thistles on the earth? I guess Yeshua's sacrifice didn't do away with that curse.

Re 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

The curses are done away with when we are in the heavenly kingdom. Now can we break specific curses in the name of Yeshua? Of course.

Jesus fulfilled the law, and took away the curse. That is basic exegesis, a past atonement, and finished on the cross. The curse, death and sin are defeated, and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
amen - pain in childbirth was clearly one of the curses that was dealt with by JESUS - for those who choose to believe and receive according to mk 11:23-24

GOD'S WORD says some people have not because they ask not

agreeing with you in prayer for a painfree/trouble free delivery of a perfectly healthy baby for your wife and you

The curse of the Garden is not the same thing as the Law of Moses. Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the Law, but did not take away the curse. We still have pain in childbirth, we still have to work the land for food, etc. The curse is removed only when the New Earth replaces it.

galatians 3:13 says - Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” ,

there was more law than just the laws given to moses - there was also the laws given to adam and eve to not eat of that one specific tree

just as there are more than one set of unconditional promises/blessings that have no law attached - there are the unconditional promises given to abraham - but there are also the unconditional promises given to noah - the unconditional promises made to king david

then there are conditional promises/blessings given all throughout the WORD of GOD to - the israelites in deut 28 - to the disciples concerning the coming of the HOLY SPIRIT if they tarried in jerusalem - the promises made to the israelites that if they would humble themselves and call on HIS name and turn from their wicked ways HE would heal their land

because galatians 3:13 does NOT say specifically the law of moses then HE redeemed us from anything that would be considered the curse of the law - mosaic law - adamic law - etc

i am sure there are a lot more laws - conditional promises - unconditional promises than i have listed off the top of my head - these are all that i can remember right now

there are also several covenants made in the WORD of GOD - adam's - noah's - moses' - david's - solomon's -abraham - isaac - jacob - JESUS' - nazarite - etc

This is another WoF doctrine I have problems with. There are still thorns and thistles. Revelation states that when we are in kingdom all the curses are lifted. That does not apply to disobedience and sin still on the earth. The consequences are still in place. Did Yeshua's sacrifice take all the sins of the unsaved as well or are they still under the curse?

Re 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Why does Revelation state that there will be 'no more curse' at that time if there is no curse now? To imply that ALL curses are lifted is ignorance. It is the curse of eternal death, ie the 2nd death that was required by those in disobedience of the law that has been lifted, not all curses. Salvation is no longer gotten by obedience to the law. That was lifted. There are still consequences for our actions we still reap what we sow, which is a curse if we sow evil.

there are several promises for those who are IN CHRIST like - GAL 3:13-14 - MK 11:23-24

those who are IN CHRIST and who believe and act on those promises can have what those promises say

those who are IN CHRIST but do NOT believe and act on GOD'S promises MISS out on something that is available to them IN CHRIST

those who are NOT IN CHRIST do NOT qualify for the promises that are promised to those IN CHRIST - but they could qualify for some of the OT promises - if they fulfill the conditions of that specific CONDITIONAL promise

everyone can find their provision in GOD'S WORD for all their needs to be met somehow - BUT - the BEST way is to be IN CHRIST - because there is NO LIMIT to the provisions IN CHRIST

GALATIANS 3:13-14
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree”— 14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Your comments show a total disregard for the redemptive work of the Cross. Of course curses still remain for those who dont appreciate that they have been lifted. For that matter so does sin and sickness.
Perhaps you should have remained at Rhema and learnt something of value rather than messin up and gaining your "knowledge" from witchcraft training manuals

The world still groans for its fallen state. Our bodies, still have a nature that opposes God. All of these things will finally be restored, but in the meantime, God has restored the curse of broken fellowship in Christ. That is because when He sees us, He sees Christ. We are in Him. That means everything spoken over Adam that resembles a penalty has been revoked. The effects of sin on our bodies means that they were eventually perish. I believe Adam might not ever have died in the original state of grace He enjoyed. When you fellowship with God at the level he did, you receive healing, for they are in His wings. Plus, without the dissonant element of sin, their was no stress or disease.

When we walk according to our new nature, we are not consumable by the enemy, who eats dust. However, when we walk according to the flesh, we are devourable. That which is not of the blessing, is of the curse. We can repent and break curses off of us as Satan is a legalist, and is quick to afflict when he has a right to. We must use the weapons of our warfare though when attacks come. They will come anyway, but we must discern when we miss God and then repent and break them off again, or if he just comes to challenge us as the thief that he is.

I never went to Rhema! I don't get any training from witchcraft manuals. You best get your facts straight before you launch your personal attacks on people.

I fully understand the redemptive work of the cross. We are saved by grace through faith, not by works of the law. There are still consequences for sin in our lives, those consequences are CURSES.

The problem comes in when we follow the flesh instead of the Spirit and are not IN CHRIST for that action. IF we are following the Spirit THEN we don't have to worry about any curses.

That is a totally different concept then, 'there are no more curses' so do anything you like and you don't have to worry about the consequences because the curses are all gone and paid for.

Its an interesting point, but I think this verse in Revelation is about the curse being lifted from Mankind as a whole, not as a result of men's faith but simply because it is the end of the world, death itself is thrown into hades!

Just because life has problems doesnt make it a curse, it is just life! we are promised trials, but we are also promised a seat in heavenly places. Jesus is not cursed, and we are his body. God could not curse us any more than He could curse Jesus sitting next to Him. These NT verses assume we are in Christ. God sees us that way, unless we choose to rebel.

Just because we see the effects of the curse does not mean that God wills it. The devil is a liar and a thief. God has given us the promise of freedom from the curse(s) of the law(s), and we have to obtain it "through faith and patience", it is not an automatic fact. The Israelites took 440 years.

Thanks for the great thoughts on Gal 3:13 - the laws it refer to are not restricted to the Mosaic law, but the Adamic law too. Praise God!

Deuteronomy 21
22 If a man has committed a sin worthy of death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree,
23 his corpse shall not hang all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him on the same day (for he who is hanged is accursed of God), so that you do not defile your land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance.

Deuteronomy 28:
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
20 The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
21 The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22 The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24 The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
26 And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
35 The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36 The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.
38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40 Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
42 All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.
63 And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
