Istanja is an Islamic term for getting rid of uncleanliness. It is a method of cleaning one's self with water after using the toilet.

If you have grown up using toilet paper, think of how we clean a baby when changing its diaper. Do we merely use toilet paper on a baby? No, we usually use a wet wipe, because it is cleaner to have something "wet". Toilet paper on its own is only a wiping device, not a sanitary one whatsoever, so unfortunately, what adults intrinsically think of when caring for infants, is forgotten when caring for themselves or training their children.

In Islam, even cleaner than a wet wipe, we use a spray of water to clean ourselves after urination or after using a wiping device in the case of defacation. If you have not performed Istanja after using the toilet before making wudu, your wudu is not valid, and so your salat will be invalid. It is also a sin and there is punishment from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for neglecting it as is related in this sahih hadith (may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala protect us from such things, ameen):

Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) narrates: "The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) once passed by two graves and said:" They (in the grave) are being punished not for a great thing to avoid "Then he added:" Yes, (they are being punished for a great sin), for one of them used to go about with calumnies while the other never saved himself from the splashes of urine "

But who would want to keep on using toilet paper now that they have learnt the benefit of performing istanja with water?!!!

After urinating wash with water. If you feel comfortable using tissue then washing with water that's fine, but there is really no need for tissue. If there is no water you can use clods of earth or stone.

Clean the private part with three or five clean pieces of clods of earth or stone if there is no water. Remember using water is the correct way and there is no need for tissue.

WHEN TO MAKE ISTANJA?

After using the toilet when urinating and defecating.

WHICH HAND SHOULD BE USED FOR ISTANJA?

The left hand should be used for all acts of wiping in rinsing during istanja. It is a sin to use the right (which has to do with eating). In Islam know, that for every good thing the right hand is used, and everything else the left is used.

Yeah, I'm left handed. I always hate the nonsense about having to use the right hand. For certain tasks, you may as well ask me to use my foot. I'd probably do better than the right hand.

- the mark is placed on the right hand
- 'allah' did not know that skin can never be cleansed completely; fecal bacteria cover everyones bodies from head to toe even after the stringest of showers
- muslims should spray 3, 5 or 7 times to fulfill sunnah completely; never 2, 4 or 6 times.

Wasn't there an issue in England where Muslims wouldn't wash their hands because of alcohol being in the hand cleaner!?! So silly!

So you rinse with one and eat with another? Ridiculous! Why not simply wash both together in soap when you are done?

What about the poor blokes that have had their hands amputated under sharia law?

The problem is not you know many things

But

Problem is to apply what I learned from the things

That is the surprise and the monopoly of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him

A commitment to the application of Islamic law

Unlike other religions

I see long nails - and the hair under the armpit - and the genitals Harafy

Are revolting
That makes me feel that Islam is a religion of cleanliness

Purity and hygiene
Inherent
Permanently
Every Muslim
Prayer and reading the Qur'an
Clothing
And body

As well as bathing
And cleaning by water
After urination and defecation

On the contrary,
West
Wipe the towel and put perfume to hide his smell and drink wine and eat pork

Non-Muslim
Full of germs and bacteria
Internally and externally
More than you can imagine

Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) reported it from his father that, 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that,' None of you should hold the private parts with the right hand while urinating , or wipe with the right hand in the privy. '
Do not use the right hand for cleansing (Istinja) as it goes against the Sunnah unless you have a problem with your right hand. We use the right hand for eating, drinking, shaking hands, reading the Qur'an etc. we should use the other hand for cleaning, holding shoes, cleaning the nose etc.

Now that we have hand sanitizer and soap it really doesn't mater what hand you use.

And most importantly, clean water. And with that, means ways to treat and sanitize water.

Except most clothing worn in arab nations is second hand from America. I doubt wearing second-hand clothing is acceptable with 'allah'. Is that a Polo shirt I see in the video?

Make sure you wash 3, 5 or 7 times; never 2, 4, or 6 - not sunnah. And don't forget to wear your shirts inside out so that the right arm goes into the left side of shirt.

Don't forget to put on your pants with right foot first.

Don't forget to take off your pants, left foot first.

Don't forget to sleep on your right side.

Unlike other religions I see long nails - and the hair under the armpit - and the genitals Harafy Are revolting That makes me feel that Islam is a religion of cleanliness

Which religion requires you to grow long nails? And what's "revolting" about hair? Hair is natural, it is genetically wired within us to grow and exist. No matter how many times you cut your hair it continues to grow back. Why is that? Well, first, you have to understand the functions of the hair: The hair on our head protects the skull and brain. It acts an insulator and is linked to our nervous system. Our eyebrows prevent water from going into our eyes. Facial hair absorb ether energy. The hair under our armpits prevent friction and irritation when we move our arms. As a Sikh, we believe to live in harmony with nature and accepting your hair is accepting God's Will. The way He created us is most beautiful, even the Bible says: "God loves us and cares so much about us that even all the hairs of our head has well counted." (Matt.10:30).

For a Sikh, it is our identity, our spiritual tool to practice humility as we do not care for what society deems aesthetically pleasing.

On the contrary, West Wipe the towel and put perfume to hide his smell and drink wine and eat pork

You're stating this as if Westerners and non-Muslims alike have no sense of hygiene. There are Muslims who put on perfume. I see it every week at the local gym - a young Muslim brother who after a work-out doesn't take a shower but throws on a different set of clothes and masks his bodily odour with scents. Oh, by the way, the perfume most likely contains alcohol! I think you should set about advising your fellow Muslims before advising us, no?

SeventhValley made a great point. Why can Muslims consume chicken but not pork? That's hypocrisy! Prophet Mohammed instructed his followers to drink camel urine - that isn't clean!

The first spiritual master, Guru Nanak wrote: "The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom. What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin?"

He further writes: "O Pandit, you do not know where meat originated. Corn, sugar cane and cotton are produced from water. The three worlds came from water. Water says, ""I am good in many ways. Many are the modifications of water." Ang 1289.

Non-Muslim Full of germs and bacteria Internally and externally More than you can imagine

Are you sure? Do Muslims possess a way from escaping filth? No. Muslims are also full of germs and bacteria. It accumulates on your skin throughout the day.

This is made clear: "Scrubbing with water, the body can be cleaned, O Siblings of Destiny, but the body becomes dirty again." Guru Nanak Dev, Ang 636.

"Outwardly, he washes off the filth, but the impurity of his mind does not go away." Guru Amar Das, Ang 88.

Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) reported it from his father that, 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that,' None of you should hold the private parts with the right hand while urinating , or wipe with the right hand in the privy. '

You made it clear that even Muslims are unclean, you say that Muslims can't use their left hand in religious matters whereas the right hand is allowed. Your logic suggests that one side of your body is cleaner than the rest!

God bless you.

In the days of old not eating pork was a very good law - God was protecting his chosen people from - Trichinosis.

Not quite they were able to cook pork back then without getting sick people were not totally ignorant about food safety. From what I have read it had more to do with separating themselves from the gentiles and instilling spiritual discipline.

That is why it was such a common illness - even in the US?

You do realize that the dietary laws are more than no pork and no shellfish, right? Is there anything inherently unhealthy about eating a camel? Or a horse?

A horse is not kosher but a giraffe would be consider kosher.

If it's based upon illness and danger, why were the food laws lifted in Christianity if the illness and danger remained?
