How would you say that if you havnt tasted it? If there ever was evidence that God existed then that evidence is beer.

Τruly it's inventor was inspired by God! Otherwise he wouldn't be able to create such a drink! XD

You are not joking are you?
If not then how come people take this things seriously?
I mean how did mr Howard jumped to this conclusion? Did Xenu told him?
I mean... Well as my grandfather used to say; "Losing faith in God? No, I am losing faith in humanity!"

no, it's been a scam since the beginning. Hubbard actually said the best way to make money was to start a religion. I think that once it caught on, some demons started guiding things.

I think we should lock this thread!
I got my answer, and this is turning to a "Thank the Lord for beer" thread.

@One with time; That is one HUUUUUGE signature there mate!
Most threads around these parts tend to (d)evolve into discussions about alcohol.

+1 for Scotch, -1 for Scientology.

Sorry brother about knocking your thread off topic, none of us meant it.
And I know my signature is huge but I actually shrank it from its original 800 picture size. Nifty signature though huh? Made it myself ^_^

Anyways I will try to shut up now before I start rambling. Dear me here I go again :eheh:

What boggles my mind is that anyone would actually buy this nonsense. How anyone can accept these modern-day phonies as legit truly is a puzzler. Joseph Smith? The stuff that guy spouted out of his cake chute is hysterical. Jim Jones, Bonnie Nettles and Marshall Applewhite with that insane Heaven's Gate comet castration cult, David Koresh, all that stuff is so silly and unbelievable, you'd have to have serious IQ challenges or one hardcore low self esteem status to sign up!

And compared to L. Ron Hubbard, even Joseph Smith starts to look convincing! LOL

sci fi and religion....gotta love it. I think Frank Herbert could've created a much better fake religion than Hubbard! But then again, I'm prejudiced because I'm a Dune fan! ^_^

But then again, Ayn Rand was a sort of cult-creator herself. Maybe Paul Ryan could head up the Wisconsin chapter seeing as how he's such a big fan of her policies admittadly! LOL

Yeah basically Scientology is based around a science fiction novel and was created as a way to make money for Hubbard. The other thing about Scientology that is extremely messed up is that you don't get to just study in scientology but instead you pay a lot of money in various installments and you get to learn more and they give you more council. So basically you just pay a lot of money, if you don't and want to leave, there is major backlash. It is hard to get out, and many of the people are somehow brainwashed into believing it.

Demons guided nothing. People's stupidity guided them not demons or anyone else. I had a friend of my mother who almost got involved with David Koresh but one of my other aunts talked her out of it. To this day she is as ditsy and dumb as a sack of beans. She believes anything you tell her and almost got hooked up with my uncle who told her he was some rich doctor or something and promised to buy her a house. She fell for it not knowing my uncle was broke and a obvious womanizer.
People like my mother's friend will fall for anything and to this day she calls sometimes asking a load of stupid questions. Cults always attract people like this and personally I sit back and watch the show because it is humorous

for a cult that is all popular and burns out? yeah, just people being silly. for one that actually stays around, especially when it's so rediculous? demons are probably doing something.

OneWithTime, we Orthodox DO believe in demons and that they guide people in false religions. There's no discussion there unless you want to debate in St. Justin Martyr's forum. Also, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't call me an idiot next time. The fact that plenty of this cult's members and ex-cult members have turned up either dead or missing (and never been found) is what makes it dangerous.

If I recall correctly, Hindus believe in demons too, right?
OneWithTime called Scientology idiot, not you! Now please shake hands and be friends! :)

maybe then we could try the Church of Jediism in England? the Star Wars universe is a lot closer to the Dune universe than Scientology.
