• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

The more you try to fight blasphemous thoughts, the stronger they will be. If you let them be and don't panic or obsess over them, they will die out. (I had this OCD theme/battle many, many years ago and yes, I would say I don't fight this battle and haven't for many, many years. I have other OCD themes but not this one.) The key, again, is to not obsess or fight the thoughts.
What do you mean when you say you have "lost your faith?" I don't want to presume to know what you mean. You don't think you believe at all in God or Jesus anymore? Or something else?

Hi. I also had blasphemous thoughts (they are all too embarrassing and too scary to describe in detail) which I could not control a few years ago. I suffered from a lot--anxiety, loss of peace of mind and heavy feelings of guilty, lost my job because I could not seem to concentrate and function in the society well, you name it. I cried heavily at night and loss sleep for days. It is still a mystery to me, where I got all of those thoughts (after stumbling upon the verse in the Bible about the unpardonable sin). Eventually, one day, I just woke up in the morning without the heavy guilt in my heart. God must have poured mercy on me and heard the prayers of those people who prayed for me continuously. I don't know how to answer your questions exactly, because I have not yet even found the answers to mine (as to why it happened, am I now forgiven, will Holy Spirit ever come back to my heart, etc.) but I guess my post will be comforting for you to know that you are not alone. You are not the only Christian who has experienced that. God bless you.

I'm not on here frequently but..

Please know that even when your illness is trying to convince you of blasphemous thoughts and that you don't believe in God, God always believe in you.

Our ocd can fool us completely, but it can never fool God. Please don't argue with your ocd. Let it say what it says and shrug your shoulders at it. In time, all truth will be revealed.

God loves you more than you will ever know

I have gone through this exact same thing and struggles with it for years. I have thought some of the worst thoughts you could imagine about God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. I got to the point where I felt like you that I couldn't fight it anymore that I was losing my faith and that I couldn't hold on any longer, but God kept me going just like He will keep you going. He would show me that He was still there with me even though He knew that I wouldn't be able to accept it because my OCD would make me doubt that too. I can say that as of right now I don't struggle with this anymore and pray that I never do again. One day you will be free of this too just take it one day at a time. God loves you and He will be there with you to fight this.
