He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? God loves His enemies. We don't.

Human love is conditional. There is always something a loved one can do that makes you say "Just get away from me!" But God will NEVER SAY THAT! No matter what.

Humans, apart from God, do not have love. All good things come from him.

A very simple exercise can illustrate this for you. Read 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 by first replacing the word "love" with your first name. See the lie of it? We may do these things occasionally, but not consistently. Now, read the same passage, replacing the word "love" with "God" and see that every example is now truth rather than the lie it is by applying those attributes to ourselves. That's the difference.

Dear janny108. Godly love is absolutely selfless and no conditions whatsoever attached to. Jesus told us: Love God with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds. Also: Love our neighbour as ourselves.
That is the Love which God wants from us. Human love is basically selfish and always asks for returns, in one way or another. I say this with love, janny .

Another difference between human and godly love is that human love is so often wrapped up in "feelings". Godly love involves decisions and actions. Feelings change over time, and you usually can't do anything about that, so human love can easily fade. Godly love, however, comes from the will and can therefore remain even if there are no feelings involved.

Human love is the positive actions towards perfection, talent and courage where negative situations can boost our positive actions through mind-challenging breakthroughs such as inventions or self-confidence created from the power of imagination. Godly love is using faith in Jesus as he lives in you and keeps you healthy and wise during your non-senior years, while fighting against the power of sin that causes breakdown in communication, failure, fear and dissatisfaction in life. Jesus promises us perfection in health and intelligence that far exceeds material wealth or Olympic-level world champion achievement because Jesus has rose from his own death and lives forever in perfect health and youth, as well as having a super-memory to know all of Creation, including every human individual since Adam and Eve were born in the beginning of Earth time. God knows our future destiny that many of us Christians will end up in his indestructible most ultra-modern and most massive community-built kingdom of God on a new Earth when Jesus returns to transform us, and where nobody will be homeless or suffer debt-depressing power and water/land rate bills.:*:.

Yes. Godly love is giving someone chance after chance after chance when they have messed up. Humans don't tend to do that. But in all fairness we can never truly have godly love becuase we can't see inside man's hearts like God can. God has the all-access pass, we don't. The only thing we can do is our best and to lean on the Word.
