Gosh, LCMS Pres. Harrison spoke to Congress? Wow, I need to find the time to check in here more often. Yeah, the liberals won't give ground. Their whole tactic is to shut down all opposition and move forward. When they do lose ground they put up an awful fuss. What happened in Wisconsin is a prime example. Expect a knock-down-drag-out fight in Washington if the Conservatives in Washington try to scale back the Communist inroads in our government. Yes, I used the word Communist, and it wasn't a mistake. I firmly believe that most of the "Liberals" in this country are nothing more than closet Communists.

My heartfelt sympathies to fellow members who are losing and have lost friends and family. Judging from the recent posts that's going around again. Praise God we, as Christians, know that death is a victory for the Lord and us. Never forget, they're not gone forever, just for-a-while. Though, I must admit, the waiting to join them can be troublesome sometimes.:sigh:

The Lord has greatly blessed me by allowing me to have horses again then providing the means. He even provided the carriages I need for showing and training. The Lord is great!

Here's a shot of me giving a lesson last week:

Okay... maybe not.
Seems I can't post pictures for some reason. Hmmm... maybe it'll let me post a link:

Okay... that worked... I think. How about another:
http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s321/rougeluck/Chance driving/Chancecrop.jpg

Everything there is loaned or borrowed. The horse and his harness belong to another customer. I've been working with him for about six months or so to get him re-habbed and back to work as a driving horse. Well, it worked!:D He's back to work, without the attitude, and is lovin' it! The cart is owned by the daughter of the lady in the photo. Chance (the pony in the shots) loves the thing and thinks he's quite the hot-rod! Now that both of the horses I've been working with for this lady are doing well, maybe she'll pay me more regularly.:sigh:

You know it's wonderful when the Lord decides to say yes. I never really thought I would ever have horses again. It was the one thing in this world I do well and it was gone. Now the Lord has provided for it again. I just hope the income can be provided again as well. LOL, it would make me stop pinching myself, for one thing.:p;)

Porter, I was thinking of you this week. Two vehicles came my way and both are from Jolly 'Ol. One is a Whitechapel Cart and the other is a Gig. Both need a lot of work but are still a huge blessing!

Yes, that vehicle collapsed on the Gig's shafts is a Hearse. Hopefully, it will be removed when we get there on Wednesday. Yeah, rotten wheels and broken shafts. This one is going to be a lot of work.

There was a third vehicle involved that I hope to repair a bit and turn it over. It's a Canadian Surrey. Nice vehicle with a simple fix and some refreshing needed:

I hope you all don't mind my coming in here and crowing like this. I just thought a little good news might be a nice thing to hear.:sorry:

We had a wonderful little hymn included in our worship last week. Jesus, Shepherd of the sheep (CW 436). Absolutely loved it! Been singing it all week. The last verses I think, are a good thing for many of us to remember sometimes:

Father draw us to your Son,
We with joy will follow on,
Till the work of Grace is done,
There to live with you.

We in robes of Glory dressed,
Join th'assembly of the blest,
Gathered to eternal rest,
In the fold with you.

May our gracious Lord bless and keep you all.:crossrc:

I just found out that another person from my high school class died this week. This is the second death this summer. I didn't know her personally, nor do I know how she died, but she was a very popular girl in high school and had a lot of friends. Please pray for Taylor's family and friends in this difficult time.

Really puts things into perspective for me now... So sad that my peers are dying so young...

EDIT: Judging from what other people are posting on Facebook about her, saying things like, "Rest in peace, I hope you found the peace you were looking for." and "My heart aches for you and I'm sorry that you chose to leave us." makes me think that she may have committed suicide, though I don't know this for sure. So very sad if it is true. As I said before, I never knew her personally, but this must be so devastating for her family and friends... :(

Last week was a high point and this week is the valley afterwards. Don't you just love the roller-coaster of this life?:sigh:

As most of you know, I live in a rural, mountainous area that's really quite beautiful. It has some drawbacks though. On Sunday, I experianced one of them.

Early Sunday morning I let Thelma, Louise, and Fella, the bottle-baby kids, out to forage. They aparently wandered way too far afield. I've been concerned about this lately and become hesitant to release them. However, being short on hay, I decided to let them out. They were late coming back and it became worrisome when the neighbor called saying two of them were at his house down by the road. "Two and not three?" I asked him, deeply worried.

Well, since little Thelma still hasn't returned, it seems that one of the kids have been taken by a local predator. A fact of life in the woods. Upsetting all the same. I'm still kicking myself for letting them out the way I did. Thankfully, none of the rest of the herd seems to have been harmed.

Adding to the guilt, had I gone to Church this Sunday, they'd not have been released.:sigh:

Westboro BC is picketing our church on Sunday. Apparently, we're a "dog kennel of a church" that teaches that it's ok to be gay. Surely they know the difference betwee LCMS and ELCA? I'm sure they don't care.

Yet another reason the ELCA should stop calling themselves "Lutheran". They give Lutherans a bad name even among the nut cases of the world.

Ignore them as much as possible, I guess. They have announced that they will be picketing four churches in town, each for one half hour. Us, then the RC church at the local Catholic University, the Disciples of Christ church (which they called a mega-church, hardly!), and even the local Independent Fundamental Baptist Church.

Now that's a wide range of churches to picket! What an odd combination.

They ended up not going to the Baptist church I hear. The folks there were a little disappointed because they had arranged to have coffee and doughnuts out for them. :)

that's a shame...lol....did they show up at your church? did you have coffee, jello, and truth waiting for them?

It's truly a 100% miracle :) Hard to explain without going into detail, but we were just about told we couldn't have kids and this baby is all natural (after over a year of fertility meds and major surgery). No drugs at all. 100% God.
