Interesting.

This reminds me of the time when scientists believed the universe was 27 billion light-years wide until they discovered it was 156 billion light-years wide.

And what's even more bizarre is that scientists still believe the universe is 27 billion light-years wide despite it being discovered to be 156 billion light-years wide.

I drive in the country a lot and am struck by how 'flat' the earth seems, and how much the sky looks like a 'dome' over it. Mmmmmmm. :D
To me, the sky has never looked like a dome. I can't describe what it does look like to me, but never a dome.

The Bible was apparently inspired by God, but contains no instructions for vaccine production or how to purify water. Actually, barely helps people improve their situation at all except for teaching them to properly worship their deity ;)
You really know very little about the Bible. Even as recent as the Black Plague that in some areas wiped out 50% of the people. If they had followed the Bible then the Plague never would have been a problem for them. Losing half of your population because they did not follow the Bible is a far cry from "barely helps people". If the Bible barely helps people it is because people either do not read and study the Bible, or if they do they do not follow the Bible the way God intended for us to seek after what is good, right, proper and true.

Yeah, this reminds me of the time when the Spanish inquisition killed people for things like that.

What is even more bizarre is that scientists change their mind when they are presented with data and evidence that convinces them, whereas if you bring those (data and evidence) to religious institutions, they will either expel or kill you.

But scientists did not change their mind about the universe being 27 billion light-years wide despite it being observed to be 156 billion light-years wind.

Their belief is contrary to their observation.

True. Because the Jews didn't throw their garbage and excrement into the streets (the Bible instructs to bury excrement) they were much less affected by the plague, and even blamed for it because they escaped the most serious ravages of it.

And it is the prayer of millions of religious folk that they continue to do so, until they get it right. :prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer:

Fine then, present the evidence and if it is sufficient, we can fully expect them to change their minds.

Funny, it reminded me of the time religious leaders discovered nothing, until they... well, continued to discover nothing.

Science only accepts evidence from within their ranks.

Social scientists have removed the fear of breaking the law by imposing their liberal systems of justice. God's way would put the fear back into the minds of would-be criminals, and society would be a lot better off. Trials of criminals would be an expedient, serious and somber event, not the side-show that takes place months or years too late in our courts daily.

Huh? Evidence is evidence. The problem is, you haven't got any. You know it, we know it.

Huh? God's way = your way, right? You wanna just go back to public hangings and witch burnings like they used to in the "good ole days?"

Soooo, you don't think we have a problem with the present criminal justice system?

I want 'eye for an eye' justice. That will reduce crime greatly, and that would be great. :D
