Stephen Boissoin on free speech, inappropriate content and his anti-gay letterVeteran gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell condemned the arrest and urged the home secretary to issue new guidelines to the police.
He said: "Although I disagree with Dale Mcalpine and support protests against his homophobic views, he should not have been arrested and charged. Criminalisation is a step too far."
Chf Supt Steve Johnson, police commander for West Cumbria, said: "We would like to reassure the public that we respect, and are committed to upholding, the fundamental right to freedom of expression.

Not wanting an anti gay preacher at a pride festival is like not wanting Fred Phelps at a military funeral. It's an understandable reaction.Pride Executive Director Dot Belstler said Johnson walked through the park without incident except that some people asked not to be videotaped by his son.
"Anybody can have freedom of speech," Belstler said. "I am worried about traffic control ... about people getting through the path." She estimated that more than 150,000 people were in Loring Park Sunday. Johnson alone wouldn't cause a problem, she said, but a few other groups also asked to distribute literature, some on the sidewalk across from the park, "which we prefer," she said.

No, books on non-fictional and objective topics do not "stand on their reputation". They stand on the basis of being based in research.
Why on earth would we have heard of this person?
So spouting off about his reputation isn't going to help you -- no matter how much he may be loved by the world.
because his works on the topic are one of the first and last of it's kind. No one has done this type of research in apologetics that Josh has done.
So how did he earn his oh-so-impressive reputation?
He should be loved by you! His is a Christian and is doing battles for you on campuses throughout the US.
I'm more interested in the quality of his work as opposed to whose side he's on -- why aren't you?
it's fine, best of it's kind.
BTW he quotes FF Bruce who was a doctor of divinity and professor, I think He studied at Cambridge.
I thought you just said it was the first? Setting the bar a bit low, are we?
The Devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
See? I can quote Shakespeare.
if you can find a better apologist let me know. And I will admit defeat.
How about reality?
you lose.

This is one for the ages.
The lines are becoming blurred in this country. I know that we all want to believe that America is a Christian country but wake up, we are all strangers in our own land. Someone from my Bible study was just out in Dearborn and he said it's like being in a third world country.
