Whew, I'm stuffed. I spent the day writing at 2000w paper (7 pages, 1.5 spacing 12pt font) for my history course last semester - I got a reprieve from essay writing while I was acutely sick but now I have a month of essays, which is not fun. At all.

Today was working on this thing for 8 and a half hours straight...I ate lunch (which dad brought me - a meat pie with bacon, tomato and cheese in it) at the computer. And then submitted it and tried not to faint :p

I have two days off, then I have to start my final paper, and then I'm done for the semester...which is good, since the new one starts Monday...

Vacation? What vacation? :p I DID get to Melbourne though which was nice.

Yes, paper work can stink especially in large doses. I hope it all works out well for you. :)

O come on now. Head on down this a' way and we'll git y'all talkin' real purty-like.

Nobody butchers the English language quite like we can.

You all are a riot.

haha, my sister's boyfriend is from England, and he thinks it's hilarious that we speak the same language, and yet often have no idea what the other is saying.

It's always funny with me - particularly with Southerners, I've had to learn to modify my voice to be more 'american' (I lived there when I was 10, in VA, so I do know what I'm talking about - essentially I just modify to the mixture of accents I had then) otherwise people can't understand me!

I didn't think Australians had particularly difficult to understand accents but we do... I'm a chameleon anyway though, I tend to morph a bit to whatever accent people are using, particularly if they have a southern British or VA/MD/similar area accent, or one of the varying Australian ones (yes, we have more than one - you think we all talk like The Crocodile Hunter or Croc Dundee? :p). Country Australia in particular is so varied, and where my family is from has its own accent too :)

:D Very true. It's good to have a sense of humour about it all. After all it feels good to laugh so heh! ....why not. :p

Awesome! I should like to think of myself as an Anglophile (even though I have not a drop of English blood in me. I do quite like the Victorian and Edwardian eras very much, as I do like the Recusant Roman Catholic history and culture. Hence, I love writers like G. K. Chesterton, J. R. R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Hilaire Belloc, Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson, Cardinal Newman, etc. )

At times, I attempt endeavour to alter my 'accent' to that of a soft standard British English. Although, I doubt terribly much that I would sound anything save perhaps a bit peculiar or strange to the ears of an Englishman or Aussie.

Although, if I ever record an audio of myself, I shall be sure to let my fine CF friends and other internet pals the Fisheaters' Traditional Catholic forum to have the privilege of hearing such and being the judge of that.

A particular anglophilic habit of mine regards my spelling; as it has been heavily-influenced by British standard spelling. That while I do retain some American English spelling and grammar convention (usually regarding the usage of quotation mark and styling thereof), I generally spell more harmony with that of the British standard or English Standard of Spelling.

P.S. Although, if you couldn't tell that I was a fan of the good Mr Belloc by my signature and avatar photograph, Heaven help ya! ;) :p
