Update I put on my FB last night for folks here:

The fire in Ft. Collins is now 100% contained. The cost of combatting the fire: $38.4 million. It burned a total of 87,284 acres. ‎259 homes were lost in that fire. That fire was started by lightning.

We just got back. The devastation there was indescribable. Whole entire blocks were wiped out and there was nothing left. My mil's house has absolutely no damage. It was very clear to how close the fire was since there was burn spots I her yard and the hill beside her had burned. We learned from the neighbor that no firemen were in the area, just two policemen who were patrolling that area. The fire came down the hill so fast and five houses were instantly set on fire they decided to save the next two houses and turned on all the hoses and found all the sprinklers they could. The neighbor has their phone number and said that the police also have pictures. It was so tragic seeing the neighbors there who lost their houses and all we could do was comfort them. One burned house still had a car in the garage, which happened to belong to a doctor. I think the best thing that happened is that the firemen came through to check on everyone and we were able to tell them thank you and give them hugs. Ok I need a nap now!

Oh and I did get to enjoy the Colorado sun and the great out doors since my husband and I were hiking in the hills by the house and now I'm sunburned

Oh yeah and I'm pretty sure you'd be interested to know that, the word around the neighborhood is that the two people who died were an elderly couple and the wife was not able to get around. Nobody was able to come help her so the husband decided to stay by her side. I really hope they didn't suffer that's true love!
