Hi all, i'm looking for a Christian diet buddy to lose weight with.

Years ago, I lost weight years ago with a non christian friend and realised the absolute benefits of having someone to encourage you when your motivation may be low. I've spent enough time at my current size to know i'd like to lose the excess weight.

Another thing that has changed is that i take my life in Christ very seriously and would like to be able to pray througchallenges the challenges that I may come across whilst trying to lose this excess weight. I think bringing the challenges to the Lord through prayer of agreement would be excellent for this.

We do not have to be in the same geography but we have to be able to talk/Skype regularly. Reply if you are interested. :)

Hi Tashaleeministry

No named diet in particular, I've been listening to the Lord. what I mean is
The first two weeks I changed nothing except for drinking two litres of water per day. Then after that I heard that I should eat vegetables for lunch (soups salads). This advise has revolutionised my work life because usually I end up really tired around 3pm and now I don't ( praise God!). I used to eat cake and chocolate and have a soda like clockwork at 3pm everyday but now I have a homemade fruit salad and a tropicana juice which I add wheatgrass, chlorophyll and vitamin e to which is actually delicious

I was doing exercise too but i've lapsed these past two weeks. Hoping to do the jillian michaels dvd tomorrow.

Are you dieting at the moment?

that is so great to hear! little changes can make such a big difference! :)
yes, after recovering my from eating disorder i had to learn how to nourish my body properly (before that i was always stuffed to the brim with junk so no room for nourishment!). it has been quite a journey since then, making small changes as i researched and listened to God, same as you. :)
i am currently eating low-fat raw vegan, as i have created many health problems through my junky eating and feel it is the best way i can steward this body to get rid of the health problems and reverse the damage i have done in the past. :)
i have pics of my health journey on my website, the various diets i have tried, aiming for health...not always losing weight, ironically, but pressing on toward God's best and my body is finally evening out to where it feels healthiest. sure was a lot quicker to do the fast-dieting tricks...healthy eating and stewardship is not a quick fix--it is a daily perseverance thing! :)

You said two things which had me whooping:
Learning to nourish the body and
Stewarding the body

These are two things I need to know for sure! For the rest of your post I was like 'wow'. I was wondering what made you transition from being full of junk to nourishing your body? What caused you to see that?

For me years and years ago I heard God say to lose the weight. I tried to do it in my own strength but I kept failing, i'd start on monday (diets always seem to start on Monday) and by Friday it was usually over. I also questioned whether I was hearing that the Lord wanted me to take better care of my body but I've read a lot of accounts of preachers who the Lord spoke to about weight and health so that put me at ease.

The hardest thing right now is I want to have everything right now! I want the weight to go away at a snap of a finger, lol. Oh and the other thing when i'm relaxing I find myself wanting to eat and it's not out of hunger.
I can't wait to see you website, I have only one more post to go and I can finally view links :prayer:

oh, sorry about that, I thought everyone could view my signature; not sure how this whole thing works! do a web search for "tashaleeorg" or "healingdiabeteswith80-10-10" and you should be able to find it.

how did i start getting into caring for this body? well, i destroyed my life with my eating disorder. selfishness out the wazoo...and then everything went down the toilet. my recovery story is on that website too, under "eating disorders", and tells about the transition.

so then the only way out was keep eating myself to death and killing everything good in my life and be the "walking dead" or...live a spiritual way of life--in practical ways, not just the motions i was going through. this meant getting rid of selfishness in all areas! so that is where the unselfish eating came in. not easy, that's for sure! but totally different life today!

thanks for sharing; it is great to talk honestly about such things! :) tash

Hi! Sorry I've replied so late, i've been so busy. What you've said resonates. I didn't have an official eating disorde but I definitely wasn't making eating choices that intended for me to live long or enjoy living.

I cannot wait to see you're blog, I get the feeling that I could learn a thing or two just by reading about your journey

Hi I've had a chance to look at your blog and it's wonderful. you look fantastic and the irony is that your beauty is as a result of being faithful to GOD and stewarding the body, not focusing on wanting to be thin or anything like that.

I'm just about to go on there now to look for recipes. I want to explore the world of vegetables more - I'm eating way more vegetables than when I first started this thread and I enjoy them too (they are delicious!).

I've lost weight too, so I'm happier but the Word the Lord gave to me is "let patience have it's perfect work" I just need to do what I know to do and allow the Lord to do the rest, amen :0))

The support of 2 or more people can tremendously boost your motivation and will power. Now you can find good diet buddies that will support you through email. It's a great way to CONNECT with others and share encouragement, recipes, tips and ideas.

So true. are you trying to look after your body more or have you got your revelation of how to look after the gift that is your body :)
