Do any of you have drawings and measurements for a traditional 3-4 sided cantor's stand? Or know where I can find them. I would like to build one for our parish .... and though I have some cutting and finishing skills, I am not confident in my designing and calculating skills.

Much appreciated.

I know there are those pamphlets that have things like candles, icons, books, etc in them to purchase for a parish. I am sure they would have a cantor stand.

if you can't find one of them, why not go to a parish or monastery close by that does have one and bring your tape measure?

Thanks AM... I have looked into purchasing one but they are very expensive and I can buy the materials for a fraction of the cost of a purchased one....and my time to work on it is currently available.

I may go find one and just take measurements.

yeah, I can imagine they would be pricey. I suggested one of those brochure thingies because they might have the measurements or some way you contact whatever is selling them to get the measurements.

it does sound like a good labor of love for your parish

And of course....this is also pretty self-serving as I would be the one using it most of the time! ;)

I have some extra 3/4 inch birch board that I would love to donate if you could use it. Just let me know. I have a piece that is 37"x48" and a piece that is 22"x59". It is furniture grade, I just finished building a computer desk for my wife and I out of it. Don't know what material you are wanting to build with but the birch is beautiful once finished. Great grain.
