Why don't you name just two subjects that we can discuss that have caused you to move from a previously held position on a Christian doctrine and you now have a different view.
Please state your previous view and your new view, with reasons for your new view.
However, please remember that this thread is in a directory for "Christians only". Do you consider yourself a Christian?
If so, how would you describe how a person can become a Christian?
Sincerely, Oz
Well let me begin by saying I don't claim to be of any organization. Jesus didn't say, follow me and I will make you Christians. Now if you take the word for what it means I would consider myself a Christian by definition. Meaning I believe in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, I do believe he is of God not made but not begotten by definition meaning God didn't procreate nor did He make Jesus. Jesus is of Gods heart. Jesus is God in the sense that we are our parents, we are 50% our father 50% our mother. Jesus being of God without mother makes him 100% of God so God in that manner but not one in the same. I could also say by definition I am a Muslim in that I turn my life over to God. although I dont claim to be a part of the Muslim organization.
I have learned that there is a lot more to what we say when we say what we say. Words have meaning, definitions and its easy to play with words to change the true meaning of what we say. I believe that words have been played with when it comes down to doctrine and religion thus why I don't want to associate with any organization. I believe each different religion plays with the scriptural words in order to fit what there doctrine teaches. otherwise there wouldn't be so many religions, denominations, doctrines, or expectations.
I believe if there was a true religion there would only be one. There is One God, One mankind, there should be One religion that teaches the truth for enlightenment, in order to grow closer to God. One Truth!!!
All the religions and doctrines and trickery with the scripture has caused mass confusion, it has caused wars, it has turned people away from God and our true purpose, it has given certain people the power to brain wash the weaker minds into believing there doctrines. It has caused one to really search and seek for the truth. It has made it almost impossible for one to truly have confidence in what they believe. It has made our chance for enlightenment that much further to grasp. One can be strong in there belief such as one can be deeply brain washed,
What is taught should be unanimous amongst all people trying to reach paradise.
I'm afraid that we may be so far gone that our only chance is our will and hunger to want to be enlightened and Gods mercy on our souls. I don't believe anyone could find the whole truth as its been distorted little by little for thousands of years. I believe we can just try to do our best in following the teachings of Jesus and continually searching for enlightenment.
I hope I don't get the boot for this post as I was only trying to show you my view on what Ive been studying.
Please pay close attention to my use of the word BELIEVE and understand the definition of that word. By NO MEANS am I trying to say I know anything that I say I BELIEVE. To believe is to not know or have proof that it is but to feel in your heart that it is
