Why do many creationists insist that The Theory of Evolution include life's ORIGINS?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but evolutionists want us creationists to just assume, as they do, that abiogenesis occurred;
It is a useful assumption; if it had not happened, we would not be discussing it.
and since I don't believe in abiogenesis, I don't believe in atom-to-adam evolution.
Welcome back. I was hoping you'd have new material. :)

Thank you, Davian! I appreciate it!

I'll see what I can come up with in the area of something new! ;)

It is a useful assumption; if it had not happened, we would not be discussing it.

They deny abiogenesis happened. And yet the Bible describes it in Genesis 2:7.

So that tells you that they REEEEEALLY hate abiogenesis if they are even willing to deny the Bible on that topic.

Creationists not only confuse abiogenesis with evolution, but they confuse the big bang theory, the origin of the earth and just about everything else they don't like with evolution as well.

Perhaps "confused in general" would be a good summary for all of that.

I am not one to argue the bible, but the abiogenesis issue comes across to me as a god-of-the-gaps argument. As we don't know the precise conditions under which the process of life began, it is something they can cling to desperately. That they cannot reconcile their arguments with the the bible does not surprise me.

It is implicit in the TOE that life 'evolved' from dead matter. Because 'evolution' had to begin immediately (soon) after the first 'life form' appeared it is no great leap to think that 'evolution' really began with the 'transition' from lifeless chemical matter to a simple life form; the first of billions of evolutionary steps. No honest believer in the TOE can deny this.

That must be why there are many theistic evolutionists who believe that the first living cell was placed on earth by God right?

How living things evolved over time into other living things is no different from how nonliving things evolved over time into living things.

It's all evolution.

Can you please show me where in evolutionary theory does it say that "nonliving things evolved over time into living things.?" Or was that your personal strawman?

I know. The Bible says it was "dust".

I'd much rather have come from bacteria than "dust." ^_^

And science trumps the bible any day of the week.

Apples and oranges. The bible deals with important issues. :preach:
Like how much you can beat your slave. Exodous 21
How to properly rape and pillage. Judges 21
Killing witches. Exodous 22
What kind of clothes to wear. Deuteronomy 22

Important for who, exactly?

Why not? I'll tell you. Even if we all pitched in, trying to correct him of all the things he's wrong about would require many, many years.

(Indeed, in that same paragraph he was wrong about confusing abiogenesis with the theory of evolution. And it is Genesis 2:7 which describes atoms-to-Adam abiogenesis. So he is complaining about something which his own Bible describes. But I suppose if you called it dust-to-Adam abiogenesis ---and didn't mention to him that DUST consists of ATOMS, he might just accept it. But no. That would be far too logical.)
