The Sabbath of the Lord thy God continues, and it is "lawful" to "do well" upon it, therefore in contrast it is "not lawful" to not "do well" upon it.:
How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Matthew 12:12
Sabbath continuance in a future setting, even at the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans, foretold by Christ Jesus:
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: Matthew 24:20
The Son of Man is LORD of the Sabbath, not "was":
Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. Mark 2:28
And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. Luke 6:5
The Sabbath, "according to the commandment", continues for those who follow Christ Jesus, even after His death:
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. Mark 16:1
And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. Luke 23:54
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. Luke 23:56
Jews and Gentiles together, upon the Lord's Day, the 7th Day Sabbath:
And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Acts 13:42
Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. Acts 13:43
And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. Acts 13:44
...and so on and so forth... more than enough evidence for those who love the Truth, but never enough for those who despise it...
The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7
Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity [shall be] upon him. Numbers 15:31
"Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight?..." 2 Samuel 12:9;p
