Does Ruach HaKodesh teach us?

From Isaiah 30:20-21
"Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,'This is the way; walk in it.' "

I believe this speaks of the Lord God, our Teacher Yeshua and Ruach HaKodesh, our Comforter and Teacher/Guide who has always been with us.

I think the following is a good description of an action done by the Holy Spirit.

Luke 2:25 And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law, 28 then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 “Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace,
According to Your word;
30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,
31 Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
32 A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES,
And the glory of Your people Israel.”

Simeon had received a revelation that he would not die until he had seen the Messiah.

Simeon was led by the Holy Spirit to go to the Temple.

And by the Holy Spirit, recognized that Yeshua was the Messiah.

And then the Holy Spirit reminded Simeon of the words from scripture, concerning the Messiah.

Both you, Jerushabelle, and Qnts2 have provided suficient scriptural evidence that Ruach HaQDSh is a teacher and guide.

Here are a few more, for those who require more than the daily recomended scriptural evidence, I say, '...who require more than the... recomended...evidence', because we are informed time and again, to 'Let all things/matters be established by the mouth of two or three'.

Luke 12:12
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say;

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jeremiah 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says YHWH, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Divine Author, and they shall be my people.

31:34
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know YHWH:

Isaiah 54:13
...all your children shall be taught of YHWH; and great shall be the peace of your children.

I John 2:27
For the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.

And just what anointing did we receive?

Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that comes after me... he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

And it is by this anointing that we are properly called Chtistians/Messianics, lit., anointed ones, and only those who are beneficiaries of the promise made in Jeremiah 31 are properly refered to as such.

I love that name "Ruach HaKodesh." I use the term Holy Spirit but in my branch of Christianity that is what we do. I have scripture and information about how the Holy Spirit, as part of our Triune God, plays an active role in guiding our lives and trying to help lead us. If you would like it I'll pm it to you.

Ruach HaKodesh provides the context we need.

I can not agree more, for we (the sons of Seth) learn from the context in which the words are arranged, HaRUaKh provides both the word and the arrangement/context that we who receive it may comprehend both life and it's meaning;

Hence, Ruach HaKodesh provides both life, and meaning to our (existent) lives.

And the meaning of life reveals every Cause, Purpose, and Reason WHY we should live.

For, 'WHY' means, what Cause, what Purpose, and what Reason. Therefore Ruach HaKodesh taught me this acronym, CPR [Cause, Purpose, and Reason], for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation is designed to keep the heart pumping, and the lungs breathing, the same is true with our Father (H)WHY, for CPR (what Cause, Purpose, and Reason) equals (H)WHY.

Just Preaching to the Choir, with a dash of impromptu...:0)

How does one know that the Holy Spirit speaks to them? Dreams? Visions? An inner peace? Does he still speak as He did to the apostles in Acts?

Acts 13:2
While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Acts 13:1-3

Got news for you Brother, MJs use the term "Holy Spirit" also. Many also use the name Jesus as opposed to Yeshua. And that's okay.

Understanding that Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit) will never tell you to do, act or live in a way that violates The Law of God.
If you believe that you have recieved a calling or message from God through Ruach HaKodesh you must ask if it, in any way, goes against The Word of God and then ask in prayer for guidance.

Agreed that the Lord will never say or do anything that goes against the testimony of scripture..and understanding what His Word says is very key. It's just that in the specifics it can sometimes be a bit more detailed---like praying on what kind of house to move into, what city to live in...or whether or not you should take a job, as there is no scripture for that. There's wisdom, according to what the scriptures note---but nothing direct, apart from the Lord perhaps saying "Move to this city" in a vision like he often did with Paul/others.

Hmm....In all things, in all ways bring you needs to the Lord.

Psalm 51.1:

To the leader.
A Psalm of David,
when the prophet Nathan came to him,
after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.

David went to God in prayer and who can say God did not answer him?
We know God loves us, so why do we not follow David's example?
It is what Yeshua told us to do, to take all our needs to The Father.
One of our needs is guidance.

.

That's more than true, although that was a situation dealing with sin/asking for forgiveness based on the will of the Lord. It was not a situation where sin was not present such as deciding where to move or what job to take....and wanting clear answers that may not always be found in the WORD as readily as knowing asking for forgiveness equals cleansing of sin. There was another discussion once where more conversation occurred elsewhere ( #5 and #6 ).

May I recommend reviewing II Chronicles 20?
Where we read of king Jehoshaphat praying to and counting on The Lord
for victory against three powerful armies which had come against his own smaller army.
God gave the victory to king Jehpshaphat because of faith.
Who did king Jehoshaphat send into the battle first?
His most experienced fighters?
No, king Jehoshaphat sent musicians!
These musicians marched in faith singing songs of praise to The One True God!
And the rest is history.
While we may not "think" the answers are to be found, they are to those who trust God and believe without doubting that He will not leave us or forsake us. We have that as a promise.
