Why does my boyfriend go distant after a great night?

This happens often. We have a great day that is filled with special and intimate moments and then the next day he's so distant and hardly talks to me. Usually then after a couple of days he's back to his old self but I can't help but wonder why he does that. One would think that after a special and romantic time he will be more talkative or at least open with me but he doesn't. Ah I don't know. It kinda upsets me.

Could be for a number of reasons, depending on the boyfriend, the nature and intimacy of the relationship, and how long you two have been dating.

Perhaps he feels guilt for some reason, perhaps he thinks its happening too fast, perhaps he is guarding his heart, perhaps he doesn't like making himself vulnerable too much, perhaps he likes to play hard to get, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

Well my personality type is very introverted. As a introverted sometimes going out and doing things or investing my time very much drains me and I just require space to recharge. Find out if he has a introverted personality.
I agree here.. could be something like this. After ONE night of closeness, that is a little extreme to feel so drained, but it IS still possible.

Usually, if I have a few weeks/month of constant events/plans/time spent with my girl and it just seems I'm never getting a break, I'll go a little off the deep end and totally shy away. So I see it VERY possible that maybe he just needs some recharge time.

I'd ask. Communication is the best way to find out what someone is feeling/thinking.

this is me exactly. There is no reason other than a recharge time is required.
