Funny term but nah. Most 'believers' who don't care for the law really don't care for it because it proves the fact of us all having the presence of sin. Those who dodge the law do so thinking the entirety of themselves is all okey dokey under grace, which certainly isn't the case.

Then there is the other side of the coin where some actually think their presence of sin is legal and obedient. I'd consider it a certainty that if the law sez not to do something, the presence of sin DOES sin by inserting sin thoughts in resistance to 'any LAW.'

Not eating shrimp doesn't really take a close enuf look inside at 'what sin really does' in relationship to the LAW.

So we're no longer to judge between right and wrong? We're incapable of judging between right and wrong? Anytime we deem something to be evil: rape, torture, genocide- you name it-we could be accused of being self-righteous/judgmental.

Messianic Judaism is a varied group. Yes, most of us keep some level of the dietary laws found in Lev 11. But most of us who do so also follow Messiah's command to not judge someone based on what they eat, drink or what days they call holy as long as all is done to honor The One True G-d of Avraham, Yitzkakh and Yaacov. All most of us ask is that we be accorded the same courtesy when it comes to how we chose to honor and obey Him.

Yes, just like in every other faith group you will find a few folk who will loudly claim you have to do things their way to be doing it right, and just like in every other faith group you will find a few self-righteousness among adherents. BUT, just like in every other faith group those do not define that faith group nor should they be used to label and castigate that faith group as a whole.

When it comes to self-righteousness Yeshua's instruction is best followed - get the log out of our own eye before trying to get the mote out of another's.

This is true of BOTH those who judge those others for eating that which Lev 11 excludes and equally for those who judge others for never eating that which Lev 11 excludes.

From my conversations, I don't recall it being labeled sin to violate the dietary Laws in the OT. They keep saying it was for health reasons. I keep asking for Scripture and still haven't been given any.

i dont belong to any certain group or denomination etc,
and i certainly don't think that eating pork or shellfish is a hell issue,
but rather just a health issue.

God knows what is best for us to eat, and He told us a long time ago.
God uses pigs in negative terms.
pigs are scavengers, the only one we in the west commonly eat.
pigs are full of disease.
shellfish live on the bottom of the ocean or swim close to it,
and as such absorb all the toxins that float down to the bottom of the oceans

God knew this/knows this...it is as true today as it ever was....
so while it may not be a religious requirement to some,
it is to others who read the very same bible,
even this Trinitarian....

so while i don't condemn eating those bad foods, i don't recommend them either.

plus, i really think the meat argument and blood argument were amongs the different groups of believers in Israel....
they all ate clean food...some argued over what was clean and what was not, that's all.

all clean food is good and to be given thanks for to God.
