Every time you run into a Hebrew word and learn more about its meaning, how about posting it here in this thread and thus share it for others to gain the insight and blessings from knowing not only the word but the meaning behind it.. I love Hebrew, it is so visual in its meaning.

The Hebrew word for "indignation" is "zah-ham." Its literal translation means "God will froth at the mouth at his displeasure with sin."

Actually, זַעַם [záʿam] (za'am) [there is no h in this word] just means anger or fury. There isn't a word for "indignation", per se, in Hebrew. In order to express that idea, you have to string a few words together.

If you look up "indignation" on Morfix, it gives you the Hebrew definition of:
התמרמרות או זעם שמקורם באי-צדק או יחס בלתי הוגן
bitterness or fury whose source is in injustice or unfair treatment

It doesn't give a one-word definition because there is no single Hebrew word that means "indignation."

Where did you gather that it had any connection to God "frothing" at the mouth?

The Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters. There are also 5 letters with a “final” form ( soffit ), which when used, appear at the end of a word. Thus, there are 27 letter forms in all. This is the ONLY verse (Zephaniah 3:8 ) in the entire Hebrew TeNaKh, which contains all 27 letter forms. The verse which follows speaks of YHWH יְהוָה restoring a PURE LANGUAGE to the peoples.

Cool thread. I'm just now looking up Hebrew translation sources. I'm doing so because of something I read online about these words:

ezer kenegdo

oikouros

chayil

I won't put definitions yet because I'm not sure of the sources, but I'm thinking this may be old news here and I'm just now hearing of them. ^_^

Feel free to add your input on these.

Context context context, If YHWH is ??? (furious) is it not because of injustice/the lack of righteousness, thus in this context ??? lit. means indignation

Mitnagid.. it was pronounced mitt-nah-gid. “McNugget” for the McDonald generation .. Mitnagdim were a specific group of Jews that were merely opposed to Chassidism. Vilna Gaon was one of the great rabbinic scholars and leaders of this group of Jews.

Ruth followed Naomi and CROSSED OVER (becoming a believer) from death to life, from Moab to Israel, learning the commandments of Torah and became the BRIDE of Boaz, the kinsman-Redeemer, from whom is came the promised see in Yeshua the Messiah, our Kinsman-Redeemer. Orpah rejected the Torah, TURNED BACK and stayed in Moab, the land of curses.

Which one are we like? Ruth, who was AUTHENTICALLY grafted-in, by learning the commandments of the Torah of Moses, OR, Orpah, who remained in paganism. Anything else is just a MIXTURE and is still living a life-style in the spiritual land of Moab!!

The root of the word Orpah comes from the word which means: neck, stiff-necked, stubborn or obstinate. Are we a Ruth, OBEYING the commandments of our Creator or are we an Orpah, stubborn and stiff-necked, staying in spiritual Moab, deceived, thinking we are walking with YHWH ELohim?

The name Orpah עָרְפָּה: Aiyin - Raish - Pey - Hey ,
The name Pharaoh פַּרְעֹה : Pey - Raish - Aiyin - Hey
They have the exact same 4 letters in their names but even in its disorder comes the truth. Meanings within the Hebrew names says a lot about the person.

1. The gematria of the name Yeshua is 406 and of Yehoshua is 411. Neither comes even close to 888.
2. The name Yehoshua is related to the word for "deliver," but it is not itself a sentence but a name.
3. The first sign of the covenant with God was the rainbow in the sky.
4. Yeah, the ark had eight people in it, but how many animals? Were only people saved?
5. Is this even serious?! I'm not going to spend the time adding up the values of those letters. If Yeshua/Yehoshua was wrong in number 1, I wouldn't take the word of the one who put this together.
6. OK. I have eight shekels in my pocket. Significance?
7. Ditto? Are we just pulling any and all references to 8 that we can find?
8. Really? My nephew is eight years old.
9. The Chanukiah has nine places for candles, just as the menorah in the Temple had seven such lights. Significance?
10. Rosh haShanah is one day (in Israel).
11. Does this mean Sukkot and Shmini Atseret?
12. Huh?

Where did this come from? I fail to see its significance, especially when it's just wrong on so many details.
