I finally got the courage to stand up yesterday.

I have a pet snake and I've belonged to a reptile site for a couple of years. The site has various forums and in one you can talk about things besides reptiles. So they started a thread about homosexual marriage and if it should be legal in Australia. I said nothing for days, most people being for it. I was afraid to say anything because I had a good reputation on the site and everyone liked me. Then finally yesterday I got the courage to stand up for what is right and confessed with pride that I am a Christian and that homosexual marriage is morally wrong. Well....they certainly bagged me, told me how horrible I was, how they'd always thought I was a nice person etc etc and how disgusting my opinions were. Well, I felt released and pleased that I finally had the guts to stand up for what is right. I apologised to Jesus for being a coward and now feel really strong in Jesus again.

The tricky thing with the argument is we have no right to judge non-christians but every right to demand that the covenant of marriage be held sacred as it is a Godly created institute.
The witness sounds clear and sincere so its the Holy Spirits job to work in the hearts of those who received the message.
Goodonya I say

You mean, what is right in your opinion, right?

I don't think any one likes it when a person comes along and tells everyone they're wrong because they have a connection with a god, and that god said so.
Telling people they are wrong with no logical reason comes off as a little arrogant is all...
+1 to gay marriage not being mentioned in the bible...

...

You know that's a belief, and not a historical fact, right?

Yeah I will stop believing in God on your say so.
You know atheism is a belief and not a historical fact, right? Its a religion as its a belief with no evidence, but now we have sidetracked.
Goodonya Granny Anny.
Jesus said to go preach to the world and you are fulfilling the great commission.

No wonder atheists hate Christians, the gospel is still being expanded.

All you atheists claiming that Jesus must approve of "gay marriage" (obvious oxymoron) because He didn't specifically say anything against it are thinking like lawyers.

He also didn't say anything against credit card fraud, computer hacking or watching banned movies. Are you going to try to claim that Jesus must therefore be OK with those things as well?

Did i tell you to stop believing?

I'm just saying, you don't have a right to monopolise an institution because your beliefs say it's yours.

Do you know what an oxymoron is?
"Gay" isn't the opposite of "marriage" nor is it impossible for two people of the same sex to get married you know...

And we're not saying he approved of it, we're saying you have no scriptures which state you should all be against two men or women getting married.
So to claim your god is against it is an assumption made on what some versus may or many not imply.
(and the assumption that your god wants you to force his will on non-believers...)

Marriage = man [husband]+ woman [wife].
Does not = man + man, woman + woman, man + dog ...... [insert every weird and wonderful combination that people try and justify]

Funny...
I wondered if you were one of those slippery slope-ers.

I hate to break it to ya.
But the "marriage can be between man and woman ONLY" thing is one of your religious beliefs.
An opinion.
Not a fact.

But the "marriage can be between two people as long as they love each other enough" is one of your religious* beliefs.

Fixed it for ya.

You got snakes, why have you got a snake. To keep the vermin numbers down?
Not an animal you can sit on your lap and pet

LOL....you obviously know nothing about snakes my friend....snakes are the most misunderstood creatures, they are shy, they are beautiful, they are graceful and I most certainly do take him out of his enclosure and pet him  he's a gorgeous gentle creature and I love him to bits. :)
