Wow! Is that accurate?

Yes, it's accurate...
...& the following two quotes are hardly all that there are.

Ellen White
The new tomb enclosed Him in its rocky chambers. If one single sin had tainted His character the stone would never have been rolled away from the door of His rocky chamber, and the world with its burden of guilt would have perished

Ellen White
Could Satan in the least particular have tempted Christ to sin, he would have bruised the Saviour's head. As it was, he could only touch His heel. Had the head of Christ been touched, the hope of the human race would have perished. Divine wrath would have come upon Christ as it came upon Adam. Christ and the church would have been without hope.” ( Signs of the Times, June 9th 1898, see also Selected Messages Book 1 page 256)

I would suppose if one could make the above statements about God...
...It would be a simple thing to also claim Jesus frowns when people eat pork.

He fulfilled it.

But it is not done away with...

Matthew 19:17-19:17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

...here is verse 16....

Matthew 19:16:And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

That is the 'moral' part of the Law and part of the New Covenant. 'The works of the Law' are not required in the New Covenant, and in fact are HIGHLY warned against.

Why don't you quote all of Galatians??

Galatians 3:10:For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

And if you do not like the King James Version, here is the NASB

Galatians 3:10:For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM."

"Saul, Saul..."

...the OP is dealing with "It is still NOT okay to eat pork"...

...not Ellen G. White,
...neither Seventh Day Adventists in particular,
...neither the powerful subject which is only barely represented in the quotations above...

...however to briefly respond...

...the words written are scriptural and the author of it is the Holy Spirit...
...if only you considered...
...but it will not be dealt with here as it is not the subject of the OP...
...begin a new thread, and if time allows...

...now back to the OP...

"All things written in the book of the Law". Including the death penalty and animal sacrifice. Not just the stuff you like.

It has caused more deaths than the eating of all pork products COMBINED...
...And still ranks as the most dangerous meat to put into your mouth.
I ain't afraid of no chicken! :)

http://www.christianforums.com/t7405985-17/#post53071134

Just a few facts to get this thread rolling -
1. Chickens are filthy birds. It doesn't bother them at all to nestle into excrement-filled nests and lay eggs that are so covered with excrement that the chicks have a hard time pecking their way out.
2. Free-range chickens eat essentially anything they can peck. Their gizzards (stomachs for the rest of us) are filled with gravel which is used to grind up the hard bits of stuff they swallow.
3. Most chickens today are not free-range, but are raised in confinement and fed a strict diet to produce the desired outcome. For example, if people like good, yellow meat and fat, then they are fed yellow dye.
4. Chickens have a wide variety of breeds which have specific characteristics. A popular breed of chicken has no feathers (makes plucking them a dream come true) and has such an insatiable appetite that they frequently die, choking on their feed. They grow very quickly as a result and find their way onto the plates of hungry Americans.
5. Chickens peck each other to establish a "pecking order" in their society. This results in wounds to the birds sometimes so severe that they die. Roosters, in particular, are useful for fighting purposes because of this trait.
6, Chickens have been bred so that they lack any intelligence. They cannot fly, although some breeds do to limited degrees. They cannot forage for themselves or protect themselves from predators.

My question is - Why would anyone in their right mind want to eat chicken?

Pork is, actually, a relatively clean meat, biologically speaking. It's better for you than most meats, including beef, lamb, and other red meats. (with the exception of bacon, of course, but man, the taste of bacon makes up for that!)

anyone using the physical characteristics of pork as an indictment of it's cleanliness is fighting a losing battle.

stick to the fact that it was considered ritually unclean... and then argue whether or not it still is.

Says who? You? Harvard University just completed a blockbuster study done on thousands of people over a long period of time totally exploding your premise:

Harvard’s Meat and Mortality Studies | NutritionFacts.org

Do you think that God was wrong when he clearly said that swine's flesh is unclean? Do you think that eating swine's flesh which is almost always infested with the deadly parasites:

Pork, usually if undercooked, is also known to carry some life-threatening diseases such as pork tapeworm and trichinosis. Scholars recently have suggested that some of the stigma placed on pork by Islam and Judaism might stem, in part, from ancient times when pork would be the carrier of disease.
Undercooked or untreated pork may harbour pathogens, or it can be recontaminated after cooking. In one instance, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) detected Listeria monocytogenes in 460 lbs of Polidori brand fully cooked pork sausage crumbles.[25] The FSIS has previously stated Listeria and other microorganisms will be "destroyed by proper handling and thorough cooking to an internal temperature of 160 °F (71 °C)" and that other microorganisms, such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus can be found in inadequately cooked pork, poultry, and other meats.[26] The FSIS currently recommends cooking ground pork to 160 °F (71 °C) and whole cuts to 145 °F (63 °C) followed by a 3 minute rest.[27]
The pig is the carrier of various helminths, such as roundworms, pinworms, hookworms, etc. One of the most dangerous and common is Taenia solium, a type of tapeworm. Tapeworms may transplant to the intestines of humans, as well, when they consume untreated or undercooked meat from pigs or other animals. If the infection is not treated, it can be fatal.
Although not a common cause of illness, Yersinia enterocolitica – which causes gastroenteritis – is present in various foods, but is most frequently caused by eating pork and can grow in refrigerated conditions. The bacteria can be killed by heat.[28] Nearly all outbreaks in the US have been traced to pork.[29]
Pork may be the reservoir responsible for sporadic, locally acquired cases of acute hepatitis E (HEV) reported in regions with relatively mild climates. It has been found to transmit between swine and humans.[30]

Trichinosis, also called trichinellosis, or trichiniasis, is a parasitic disease caused by eating raw or undercooked pork infected with the larvae of a species of roundworm Trichinella spiralis, commonly called the trichina worm. Infection was once very common, but is now rare in the developed world. From 2002 to 2007, an annual average of 11 cases per year were reported in the United States; the majority were from consuming wild game or the source was unknown. The number of cases has decreased because of legislation prohibiting the feeding of raw meat garbage to hogs, increased commercial and home freezing of pork, and the public awareness of the danger of eating raw or undercooked pork or wild game products.[31]

raw, undercooked, improperly prepared, etc...

someone has pointed out that poultry is actually even more dangerous if that is the case.
and that's true.

This pig is clean, eat upp!

No, oh no, please, please re-consider, as cute as it is, it is merely washed on the outside, it has not changed natures, it is still a pig, - porcine, unclean.

Jesus even mentions this, please take a moment to consider what he had to say to the Pharisees, Saducees, Scribes and Lawyers:

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Matthew 23:25

[Thou] blind Pharisee, cleanse first that [which is] within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Matthew 23:26

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead [men's] bones, and of all uncleanness. Matthew 23:27

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. Luke 11:39

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. Luke 11:52

...does not this directly apply?

Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. Deuteronomy 14:3
