Why isn't the bible absolutely clear on healing?

I know all the different interpretations from different christians camps.
Some say God heals, but only if he wants to, others say he always wants to but cannot because we don't have enough faith and so on.
But if God really always wants to heal and if you only have to speak to your sickness and then it will leave you, as many teach, then WHY in the world didn't Paul or any other apostle not simply make it clear at least one time?
Why didn't Paul write something like do you not know that in order to be healed all you have to do is command the sickness to leave you?
This would have settled the whole healing debate once and for all.
I just don't understand it.
You can interpret so much into the bible. You can pick verses from the bible which seem to say that God wants to heal all at any time and you can just as well draw verses from the bible which seem to indicate that today God doesn't heal anymore and that even Paul lost his ability to heal which is why he left Trophimus behind sick.
You can simply support almost every flavor of bible interpretation with bible verses. Then HOW shall we know what the truth is? Even if God really wants to heal all HOW shall you pray with absolute confidence when at the same time it's so vague and you can always get doubts about wether it really is God's will and about wether you even understood the bible correctly?
I have been suffering from this for years and asked God to just show me what the truth about this matter is. Even if I did not like the truth I'd still prefer to have clarity about it than to always wonder and to struggle.
But years later I still have no clue who is right. Sometimes I think the WOFers have a point and then again I wonder if they're deceivers and heretics which preach a false gospel of health and wealth. I simply don't know who is right. :(

For example if you believe that God wants to heal but not always when we desire it then how can you pray with faith knowing that God will say yes? In the moment where you believe that God might not want to heal you now you cannot pray with faith. This totally annihilates your faith!

Or if you pray and don't even know if God wants to heal or not then you also cannot pray and believe you receive. Then why even pray?

Jesus said when you pray you must believe you receive. But how can you do that if at the same time you don't even know if God really always wants to heal? If you believe that sickness can be a punishment or that God teaches you with sickness then how can you pray with faith? This makes no sense.

But what if you want to get healed but simply don't know how if you have enough faith to receive it or if you're able to not doubt? To me this seems like the only ones who can get healed are those who don't get doubts at all. :(

The Lord mentions having the faith of a mustard seed..... a mustard seed is so small. So why would we need great faith to be healed. Some get healed here on earth, some when they get to heaven. I know this is not easy if you are suffering.

How many times did Jesus pass the gate beautiful? I do not know, but the man by the gate beautiful was not healed while Jesus was on earth, but later when Peter spoke to him. We need to trust the Lord, trust Him and love Him even if we are not healed. We see many miracles when people pray. The Bible tells us to pray, so we pray.

Some churches have decided you must have faith, and if you are still sick you do not have faith. One man who preached this had great faith, but died of a brain tumor. Not because Jesus was mad at him but because it was this man's time to go to heaven. These churches do not mean to teach a lie, they believe they are telling the truth. It hurts those who have great faith and they are not healed. Don't forget the Lord looks at their hearts, it is not up to us to judge them.

I would like to be healed too, but I must trust the Lord's timing, and as Paul bear the thorn in my flesh.

We do not always understand God's ways, but His ways are the best. He is in control. Trust Him.

I have heard of studies of where they looked at the patients who were prayed for and the ones who were not, the patients who were prayed for did better. Of course if it is our time to go, the Lord will take us, we must trust the Lord in this, we always say "Thy will be done."

Praying for you Wr2, I even pray for your healing. God bless.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8,9

Thank you for your question Superman.

I know people are on both sides, some say yes and some say no. I may disagree, but everyone has a right to their own opinion and only God knows the correct answer.

I believe that when we die, it's our time. Sure we may have made bad decisions, but the Lord knew we would. We still should make good decisions, but for some it's too late because they did not come to the Lord until it was too late or came to their senses to late.

You know what? accepting death is a lot easier, when I can say "it was their time to go". Living in a small town, there are a lot of deaths, and I have known most of those who have passed away, just a few I did not know personally, but know their families. It was the people here, that would say, "it was their time to go" and I find that a comfort and have come to believe it too.

God is sovereign, God is in control. God bless.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

this is why there is so little healing that takes place supernaturally. i was at the point where wr2 was and it bothered me. if Jesus healed every sickness, disease and ect that came before him as the word says then i need to believe it is also possible for today because the word teaches that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. if God's healing power left the earth then God would of changed his mind which the word says God does not do. so why is it not happening in my life or in other christan lives at will. it seemed to happen at random as if God came and healed that person but not the others. i kept thinking that God is a just God. so why would he heal one person and not anyone else.

well about 5 years ago i found a church that teaches the word and does not preach the word. here is an example of the difference between the two. a pastor who preaches the word tells you what you need to do like in order to be healed you need to have faith. but leaves out how to get that faith for what is necessary to achieve your healing or hold on to your healing once healed. a pastor that teaches shows you how to achieve your healing step by step according to the word. well since i have been at this church i have seen glory dust(gold dust), legs grown out, arms grown out, spines straightened, depression lifted, addictions removed instantly, and many other things. but now as i am taught the word i am still not satisfied with the occurrences of these miracles. the word shows Jesus healed everyone that came to him and i still don't see that happening but i am thankful for what God has done for me and for many others. so i started researching famous ministers like smith wigglesworth on how he was able to achieve all that happened throughout his whole ministry.

i believe i have found my answer. what we need is God's divine love. a love that goes beyond human understanding. sorry but i am having a hard time trying to describe it. a love that cares nothing for yourself but only for others. upon knowing this you must understand that when going to heal that nothing can be done without the intervention of God. this makes your desire for the healing to give God the glory instead of putting it elsewhere.

i find that most people want what God has to offer but are not willing to go after it because of the cost. divine love just does not show up one day and say now you can do any and all miracles you can think of. it take time, commitment, a close relationship with God, constantly in the word, constantly praying, getting rid of all fleshly things. the less ties to the earthly world the better. your attitude should always be "what is your will for me to do now". you will be able to feel God with you at all times. there is so much more that you get as a benefit from God. oh how i pray every christian would come to this place in God.

we as christians need to come into unity in the body of Christ as well as in our communication with others. we need to release our pride and give the credit to God and we need to build up our most holy faith. there is so much more if we would only turn to God and let him work on us.

the grace of Jesus be upon you all.

I was provoked when I read your post entitled, ' Why isn’t the Bible absolutely clear on divine healing?' It has been my conviction born out of both revelation and experience that the Bible is absolutely clear on divine healing.
The problems always start at the human end not the God end. Everything that God has done concerning our salvation through Jesus has been challenged by the demonic realm, that is why there is so much fog concerning divine healing. Satan wants to cause as much confusion as possible so that Christians remain sick, weak and afflicted in both soul and body.

Christians who think it is God's will for them to be sick, weak and afflicted in my view are in the fog.

There is a very simple formula for deciding if something is bad or not, it
goes: If it is good in is God, If it is bad it is devil. With this formula in mind lets see if we can find some scriptural evidence to back it up.

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Here we have the Trinity involved in doing good by healing all who were under the power of the devil Why? Because God is good and the devil is bad!

Now lets go to Luke 10: 17,19. The seventy-two returned with joy and said, Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.
He replied, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Here we have an account of how the seventy-two went out preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, healing the sick and casting out demons. Jesus had said, “ I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” Reading this in context I believe Jesus saw Satan fall from heaven because he had lost his authority over the people he had been afflicting with sickness and diseases and demonic oppression. (See Ephesians 2:2 the ruler of the kingdom of the air)

Jesus was then one who gave the seventy-two authority too heal the sick and cast out demons and as we have all ready seen in Acts 10:38 His power and authority came from God … who went round doing good by healing all who were under the power of the devil.

Then we have the part of the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples in Matt 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Well, there is no sickness in heaven! So if we believe that Jesus meant what he said then this verse means that it is in the Father's heart to bring an end to sickness and disease.

Then there is also Psalm 103 2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's...
Verse 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Finally there is one of the great messianic prophecy’s fulfilled in Jesus: Isaiah 53:4-5. 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

See also in the New Testament Matthew 8:17 & 1 Peter 2:24.

I hope the above helps you'

Blessings,

You can't have faith 2nd hand. In other words, if a man has faith and doesn't need doctors and walks in victory. You can't just say, "ok he did it so I'll do it."

One must have faith for himself. And faith comes by hearing God, not man. Romans 10:17 Though God might speak through man.

And faith is not learned when taught. It is learned when lived. Eph 4:15 For faith is NOW. Heb. 11:1 Faith is not fully learned when taught but learned with love Gal. 5:6 and love needs action.

Many people hear faith teaching with their physical ears but not with the ears/eyes of their heart Eph 1:18 and so have hope but not faith. So there will always be misunderstanding. But if we have Jesus we have what we need. John 6:21

John 15:7 Jesus answers those with a pure heart. Why? An unpure heart will have doubt in it. The doubt will stop the faith.

I believe it's God's will to heal all the time. You can see by my badge that I'm word of faith. I decided to identify with word of faith. Why? Because I respect God's word and live for Him as He directs. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. The sickness of the body is definitely Satan stealing our health, destroying our life. We are to follow those who have had a good life with God. And follow their example. The ministers that had a strong healing ministry were in the Bible and prayer much of the time. Smith Wigglesworth, John G Lake and Andrew Wommack TL Osborne all stayed in the Word much of the time.

So live in the Word. Pray the word. Meditate on the Word. Jesus is the word.

2 Cor 10:3-5 Don't let a report against God's promise go. Reject those and accept instead the promise of the Bible. Seek Jesus and rest in Him.

If you read TL Osborn's book on Divine Healing (Healing the Sick A living Classic) you will see that the Bible is very clear on it.

To me this seems like the only ones who can get healed are those who don't get doubts at all. :(

And being in the word morning noon and night will get rid of doubt. Will open the eyes of your heart to see the truth. Don't only just read, pray over what you read. Reject the arguments that will pop up in your mind when you read and decide instead to believe the Bible and not the report against the Bible. 2 Cor 10:3-5

What will come if you try this is a thought, "This isn't going to word." To counter this thought. Quote John 11:40 "Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"

Get Healing the Sick. This book will defeat all your doubts.

Kenneth Hagan prayed over Ephesians 3:14-21 for days and was healed.

By the way, its not a system but Jesus that works. Believe in Jesus not the system.

Hello friends. I have several things to add here.

I have seen God move in the area of healing as I have been a recipient of His healing. I had a bad Liver and the Lord gave me a brand new Liver. I should not be alive but the Lord had a plan for my life so I know healing well.

I have been a missionary in Africa when I contracted Malaria and died and I had an encounter with the Lord and actually got sent back. When I came back I was completely healed of Malaria. The encounter I had there are no words to describe it. I have seen through my own laying of hands on others be healed from amazing things in the mission field, and I have seen those who did not get healed. So I am very familiar with healing. However I have a problem with those who go to the extreme.

I know my Beloved Jesus is Sovereign and moves according to His will not peoples will. I have seen where people have made Him microwave friendly. Where they command Him to heal rather then move with His Holy Spirit. There is wisdom in moving in the area of healing and deliverance. Many run on zeal and think that every one they touch will be will healed or should be healed. Jesus said, " I do what I see my father doing."

Lets look at Lazarus. Jesus knew Lazarus was not well did He run to him and heal him, No! He allowed Lazarus to die because He had a better plan and that was to glorify His Father. The Lord knows our heart and He has a plan. We cannot put God in a Box and make Him work for us but we should partner with Him by being sensitive to His spirit.

I have seen in supernatural ministry school churches, where they have used the Lord in the way I spoke of above. I struggle with the fact when they pray for people they say oh you must have unforgiveness, or do you have any sin in your life, oh you must not have enough faith and it is not in a positive way but rather makes people ashamed they are sick. Now I am not saying that these may be some of the causes why people are sick, I am saying the way they present this it causes people to turn away from healing then to receive healing. I have been in these circles and have seen it. We have turned healing into a religion instead of letting the Lord be the Lord in every situation and not guess what might be someones problem. Someone may not have sinned like Lazarus or maybe like Job. We need to be careful and not cause our beloved sisters and brothers to be the walking wounded in the church. I have heard people snap at people because they may have said, "well my cancer has gotten worse." Then the ones who snapped says don't own it it is not your cancer with abrasiveness! I understand we need to be careful what we speak because life and death is in the power of the tongue but, wow when we began to respond to someone like that it turns them off, and it takes them back like wow it is a sin to speak what the person thinks is really happening, instead of explaining hey we need to be careful with our words in a loving way.

I have been walking in healing but only through the moving of the Holy spirit through my deep and profound relationship with Jesus Christ. When He says move I move and have seen great things become of it. It all starts with being in His presence seeking His face and using His wisdom and guidance and allowing Him to move in ones life and through ones life.

I have seen so many people end up causing a child to die because they were taught in a church to trust God with every sickness and disease, then people do not believe in doctors. Wow how far are we going to go in the bride of Christ. God gave us doctors too and nothing limits His healing weather you go to one or not. I have personally had friends die of cancer when they had treatment that could of helped them live. Granted it was their choice however it is sad to see such casualties.

WISDOM, RELATIONSHIP, INTIMACY IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. PARTNER WITH HIM AND SEE WHAT WILL FLOW FROM YOU INTO ANOTHER PERSONS LIFE.

Blessings

Amen, he does but at times their can be blocks to healing. I believe the biggest one is unforgiveness.

The only hindrance to healing is the one you believe is there.

Because Jesus healed people first and then dealt with them spiritually, then we can do the same.

Remember the person who got healed, and Jesus said to make sure that he did not continue in sin unless a worse thing come upon him? This is an example of Jesus healing first, and dealing with the sin in the guy's life next.

So, if a person is in sin, or has unforgiveness, we get him healed first, then we deal with the sin or unforgiveness to prevent the person getting something worse down the track. This is sometimes why a person does not keep their healing after being successfully healed. They have not dealt with the sin that was in their life.

So, when you minister healing, don't stop to worry about sin in the person's life. Get him or her healed first, then deal with the sin. This is how Jesus did it, and how you will successfully do it as His representative.

Your last paragraph is the answer. It is also known as walking / living by faith.

I think you are doing yourself no favor in examining both sides of the issue of healing without committing to one side or the other. That will erode faith and you will make no forward progress (James 1:6-8). If you are born again, you have the Holy Spirit living in you, who will guide you in all truth, including the answers you seek concerning healing.

I'm going to clear this up for you.Now Jesus told his diciples "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth,if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain,'Move from here to there' and it will move,Nothing will be impossible for you."
(Matthew 17:20-21) So now if you have faith and can move a mountain why would it be hard to heal. It's all done with absolute faith no other way around it.The bible does speak clearly of healing look at the four gospels
