I thought I'd share an interesting observation. One of my cats has taken a keen interest in MC as in becoming attached to him. The other two cats are a little distant (I thought Coco would be very maternal but she isn't) but the third cat loves being near him. He was the one who doesn't like being fussed by the women in our house.

So right now it looks like there's a long term friendship developing between Knuckles and MC :). I guess it's a guy thing. :)

Awww sweet!

Unfortunately my two will never have a friendship. Old Tiff is too grumpy and set in her ways, she'll never warm up to another living being other than DH and me. Our youngster Mario however wants nothing more than to play with her and be buddies...something she adamantly (and loudly) refuses.

But I just love how he tries...he's SO naughty...^_^

^_^ That reminds me of HRH's relationship with the cats. ^_^

I was petting the neighborhood feral cat the other day. She's very friendly. I had her in my lap and was patting her when I suddenly remember that I forgot to renew some credit on my phone and was in danger of losing the airtime as a result. I did a sharp intake of breath when I realized it and it frightened the cat. She suddenly jumped right up on my face with her claws out!

I've got a scratch on my forehead, one a bit higher up at my hairline, two on the left cheek and one behind my right ear! It took a couple of seconds for me to realize what had just happened before I manage to peel her off. She jumped from my hands to the ground and started looking around like she was expecting a fight.

It was kinda painful at the time but I think I'm over it now.

In other news, I finally managed to pet her son, who is 4 or 5 months old now, I think, or something like that. I lured him in with string and very carefully managed to pet his head a bit. I think he really liked it once he got over his initial fears. I was bragging to my friends about it but I think they didn't quite feel the same sense of achievement that I did. :|

Ouch! Your poor face! Hope it heals soon. There was a sweet cat that roamed my neighborhood. We called her Bella. She was so friendly. Let everyone pet her. My cat Tiger is an indoor cat and so sweet. About a year old. He didnt want to stop knocking the decorations off my tree. He was totally fascinated with thee shiny balls.

I recently wrote a book about things God has taught me through my pets, including Jitterbug. Jitterbug is a fat tortoiseshell calico with whom God has allowed me to spend time. The name of the book is God In The Cat Box and is available on Amazon. I hope it blesses and inspires you.

I thought you'd like to see my latest video of Knuckles. This cat offers me hours of pure laughter. He's the only one of the three that enjoys a little dose of catnip each week and this was the first time I caught him on camera - except he didn't want to make his little habit public. So we have the end result here :D

Enjoy!

I watched the video. it's very short, but sweet. Knuckles looks really big, too.
Thanks :) I'd edited down the video a little as there were quite a few "stop-start" moments whilst he took a breather from his catnip.

What are you feeding him?
:) His dad was quite a large tabby who was also a gentle giant. Although I do tend to spoil him with turkey slices too. :D

His brother takes after the mom cat more and is a little smaller.

Has anyone attempted or succeeded in toilet training your cat? I'm starting this now - bought the special toilet insert litter box and am getting him used to going in that (on the floor). He's using it but the first time I tried moving it to the toilet, he went in the tub instead. :( It's been a week so I think this weekend I'll try moving it to the toilet again.

If anyone else has done this, I could use some advice! :)

hahaha toilet training cats. It sounds like a lot of hard work and faithfulness at first, but I reckon it has a lot of benefits; saved money on kittylitter as well as saved time cleaning up.

keep up the good work!

Regarding advice; you could try catnip in the toilet bowl.

When Coco was a kitten, I had to resort to physically standing in the litter-box and then placing her in the same spot right around the time when she was due to go. It took a couple of goes before it registered with her. The boys learnt from her. I remember placing the box where she regularly went too so that she connected with the smell.

I hasten to add that I would stand in a clean litter box as opposed to a used one. :D

I never have had a kitten that didn't understand the litter is where you poop. I think it starts with who first has the animals. I get lucky I guess. I do think covered litter boxes help hasten mistakes. My girl kitty had a habit of pooping over the box and thinking it went in. :( This was not fun! I bought a sifting litter covered litter box. Now,she can't do this.

I've not patted a kitty or a cat in over a week. :(

There are some neighborhood feral cats in my area, but they are super duper feral and will not tolerate any overt attention at all.

I try to call out to them sometimes but they go on high alert and immediately run away...

At my friends place, the feral cats are much more relaxed but I've not been there in over a week. :(

My only comfort has been the neighbor hood granny dog Tina in my little area. She's a mut, but I've know here for the past 6 years and she's really affectionate even though she has no home. Her daughter, whom I've know for the past 3 years hasn't been around for the past 4 days, which is very usual.

I think she's probably dead now. About a week ago a group of thieves attempted a raid on the community I live in ( I wasnt' there at the time) but the neighbors told me the dogs were very helpful in alerting the community to the problem. I think she was most likely killed by the bandits as she was trying to drive them off.

It's a bit sad, cause 2 years ago the dog family numbered about 8, but now there are only 2 left.

:(
