Well I FINALLY decided on a new TV. Only been researching since Christmas. I wanted to get the biggest I could, and the best I could with the money my aunt gave my family for Christmas. My boys were just like "would you just buy one already?". So I was all set to buy an LED TV. My youngest son for some reason did not want a plasma, but after looking and looking and thinking I was almost going to buy a 46" LED by LG but Best Buy would not price match the price I found online and then (after 3 trips to 3 different Best Buys) one of the salesman says "well you really can't beat 600hz for gaming it just doesn't compete and so.........

I ended up getting an LG 50 inch plasma. My youngest son was not impressed but oh well. I probably will not get to buy a TV ever again lol at least until I get out of debt, but...

And so it's supposed to be a happy experience right? Exciting? So I get home and we have to take this shelf wall out of our entertainment center to fit the TV (I knew about this beforehand I just didn't think it would be that hard) So it has these lock screws that go in from the side and inside of that there are screws that go up or down to hold it in place! The lock screw hole is smaller than a dime and then there are dowels too!

So after my son being a total brat and complaining and whining I yelled at him to just go ride his bike (cuz that was what he was complaining about) I was able to stick a saw in and saw the dowels and then I just ruined the shelf by taking needle nose pliers and pulling the screws out. I couldn't risk taking the top off (which is probably how it was put together) because it had the same lock screws and if I ruined the top I would be screwed no pun intended lol! And then of couse we didn't have an HDMI cable which I thought we had and then we didn't have one for the son's XBOX which he thought he had and now the only thing lacking is hooking up the surround sound, which we also did not have the right cord for!

And it only took all of my Saturday! LOL. I literally left the house at around 11 and didn't eat until 9 that night after FINALLY getting the TV set up and direct TV coordinated etc etc etc. Good times

What an experience .. but way to stick with it and get it done. But got to love the new TVs

That's what I'll be doing after I get my LR competed. I've not had a TV since I moved to my new home! So sounds like I'll be in for an experience too! Tho, I don't have an entertainment center to mess with. I'll have to also buy a corner stand/table/cabinit to put the TV on. Got to spend money to keep the economy going!

So last night I had to have a guy come out to fix my heater. Turns out my unit took 6 pounds of refrigerant! It has been 4 years since I had to have refrigerant put in and last time it took 2 pounds. Glad I did it now instead of waiting until summer to find out the air wasn't really working but still cost me 320 bucks AND they say I need a new unit because the fan has blown out oil and some other connector is going to go bad soon. It's 13 years old but I think it should last longer. It's 4-6 grand for a new one and I don't think I will have that kind of cash....well....EVER unless I find a sugar daddy or win a sweepstakes.
On another disappointing point, I'm doing my taxes and for some reason my refund is going to be ALOT smaller than I expected so now I won't be able to pay off my truck before I lose some of my social security due to oldest son graduating high school and turning 18.
I have been being so good not charging on my credit and trying to believe God will make a way where there is no way, and I just keep falling back down the mountain after only a few steps. I do trust God I just wish it was clearer WHAT I am supposed to do!
To top that off stupid social security requested information FROM my son for when he turns 18 so they could pay him direct. Well I got a letter from them yesterday stating that MY SON requested that they pay him instead of me which isn't true, so now next month they will put it in his account which wasn't supposed to happen until April. He will transfer the money to me, but it's just a hassle, just another hassle I don't want to deal with! Grrrrrr.

When they turn 18, the money is theirs. Stupid because they know the kids are "dependent" and haven't graduated from high school yet or they wouldn't get any. Be prepared. If you have stated that you "saved" any of their money on any of the yearly reports, they will also expect you turn over that amount of money, too.

Definitely make him visit you first!

Although...depending on where he is in KS, I might get a chance to meet you too LOL!

Anyhow...if you do visit and things don't work out or whatever, you have a safe haven here...I have a spare bedroom etc so you'll feel safe :)

Good luck with the Love :)

Michelle: I hear ya on the TV nightmare...
Put a new one in my bedroom with my Winsol gift money, and it was one thing after another...I wound up going back to the store 3 times to get everything I needed to set it up and work properly....who knew?!?!?

Although...at least I didn't have a whining kid added to the mixture ;)

My oldest has officially moved home and is living with her dad...though she's over here *all* the time it seems. I'd forgotten how much work a 2 year old was...and how quickly they get into trouble.

So I've moved my altar and magic stuffs out of 2yr old reach (she really loved all of gramma's crystals, rocks, and seashells!) and the athame is now waaaaaaaay up high...

the old altar (a converted piano bench) now holds a few of her smaller toys, crayons and coloring books for her...which isn't as much fun as gramma's rocks, but alas...it will have to do ;)

After my week getaway I've spent 3 days cleaning my house....remind me of this next time I decide to run away for a week?!? The house didn't even get vacuumed while I was away....what's up with that?!? and 2 days of laundry and it's finally caught up...what *was* I thinking?!

Still jobless and no interview scheduled right now...appalling I know...but something will break loose eventually.

Though unemployment isn't quite enough to keep ends meeting they're not completely frayed apart yet...

nope never stated I've saved any of it, because I haven't and I get that they think the money is his, but my point was that THEY (ss) requested the info and then acted like MY SON contacted them which isn't the case. That and the fact that he doesn't turn 18 until MARCH not January.

She's definitely a joy to have around...
And I have to admit, it was kinda cute watching her try to overfill a 5" diameter cauldron with various rocks n crystals then her frustration as they would spill out behind her like breadcrumbs as she'd then take it to show her mama what she'd made :)

She is so adorable....

OK I missed this somewhere, but who is this 2yr old you speak of? Does she live with you?
Also hope you get a new job soon.
Whenever I go away, I have to have my house clean BEFORE I leave so when I come back all I have to do is maybe some dusting and the laundry. It's just how I roll. Maybe you should try that next time you go away?

oh! My oldest daughter moved home last week...
She's actually living with her dad this time around, but she and my 2 yr old grand-daughter are *always* over here during the daytime :)

The 2 yr old is Adalynne Christine...

Unfortunately my daughter's exhusband has Bella...my 1 yr old granddaughter, but that's how life goes sometimes...

Its a new day and a new saga in my oldest teenagers life. I thought they were supposed to get easier as they get older? Only 4 months until he graduates and I question daily if I will make it! Emphasis on I!

So he tells me that since he is failing his science class and his teach is a woman's feminine hygene product he is going to tell his counselor that he wants to take an online science class and skip his 4th hour science class. Problem is he isn't going to tell her that he will be skipping the class so it will be unexcused absences. Another problem is they require him to go to 4 classes. I have a call in to the counselor to find out what she told him. It appears he got his wish for the online class because I got an email that he was registered. WHY WHY WHY does he have to make everything so hard?
He also decided instead of quitting his job he is taking a leave of absence. I guess that's a good thing. The real problem is he keeps having issues with people and it's always them but really the problem is him. Until he sees that I'm on the roller coaster at least until he's out of HS.

That is just messed up....but can't say I expect too much more from them. That money should go to you until that birthday.

My kids are going to know that a certain about of that money comes back into the family account as "rent and cost of living". I'm hoping that I will be working enough by then that I really can tuck it away for college. I fully understand every penny getting spent (and my little bit of death benefits is disappearing too.) I hate when people watch me spending money on my kids and assuming that I got some big life insurance payment. I tried to get him to buy one and he kept putting it off because he was young and healthy. It is hard fact of life when you find yourself uninsurable at age 36.
