MY experience as a Child was, I KNOW I was naughty, but when I did try to pray I felt nothing. I attended Church and went to Confession. My thinking is a) The repetition of the prayers given to me at Confession may not really have hit the spot but would God hold that against a young child? And b) I guess sin separated me but I didn't know that at the time.

A friend's Mother lent me a copy of a book similar to Pilgrims' Progress - the Land of Far Beyond by Enid Blyton and I know it touched me spiritually but I think all the distractions of the World were strong for me.

I just assumed really that taking my Children to Church with us; they would be exposed to joy and a great atmosphere, never thinking they wouldn't feel it maybe. Later my boys joked about trying to hide from us outside on a Sunday so they wouldn't have to go.

What ideas do you have on how to reach a Child? And what is your story please?

Personally, I educate my children, let no one confuse them, nor religion.
If adults do not understand the Gospel, - let alone children
Parents should educate their children, not a religion

Are they responsive? We had childrens worship songs which they mostly liked when small. We tried to do " Family Worship" but, there were 4 of them, we had to split up into 2 separate rooms - they were too giggly.

I've had no problems educating my son and daughter. It probably helps that I have been a children's church teacher as well. I let them chose themselves. I answer their questions with Biblical verses and my interpretation of the verses. We teach prayer that's not just repetition, but a conversation. I've supplied them with an age appropriate Bible for them but not forced them to read it, they enjoy reading it on their own because it's encouraged with emulation.
