• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I'm not scared of planes, I love them. I'm not scared of flying, I enjoy it immensely.

OTOH, I had my fill with airliners when I was discharged from the army. I had a busted leg, in my civies, and the stewardesses were SO RUDE. When I complained to United Airlines I was advised that if I didn't like it I can always choose another airline instead. That was in 1992 and I ain't been on one since.

Now they have these goons from TSA molesting people. Forget it.

If I fly, I pay to travel. Not to be mistreated of sexually harassed or sexually assaulted. Who would be stupid enough to pay for that???

Hi Cactus Jack,

I didn't have a big fear of flying. I've flown many a time and it has been ok, not a lot of turbulence. We hit some small bumps this last time that we were flying, only because we hit a small storm. The pilots know what to do, and are very experienced. We went at a higher altitude, and it helped a ton.

I also have high-functioning autism and PTSD, so airports are hard for me in general, but they are safe and have a lot of security guards just in case.

I think they say airplanes are safer than driving.

Good luck!
